AFF - YES
Fling - never used it
POF- YES

All can be used to meet and attract women. So can other sites such as Craigslist Personals, Yahoo/MSN/AOL Personals, MySpace, Facebook, and other various dating websites. :)

Multiple good Photos, Great Headline, and a well written profile will get you far.

is AFF any more or less reliable than POF because I always get the feeling all those AFF profiles look so fake, like they want to get ur email so they can spam you. Just asking because I never joined AFF but that is just my opinion, if people chime in that it has some reliability I might give it a shot.

AFF for me at least is a scam site. The same goes for Fling. With POF I have had some success with it but not much.

yeah, i signed up just now to be able to check out some profiles but you have to be a member to do so. that plus a lot of those profiles look fake, kind of looks like you have to do a lot of work to find someones real profile. though if JSmooth says it works and has had some good experiences on there i thought about giving it a shot but those fake profiles are kinda turning me off.

Could you post some examples? Or describe each of these in more detail? What makes a "good" photo? How do you write a well written profile? Great Headline?

I like POF there it seems to be the most popular dating website....also check out okcupid, not as many HBs, but I like the design and features a lot more.

These kind of sites arent regular dating sites in my opinion, but do u use the same technique on these sites as in regular dating sites?
If u have a different technique to open girls at these sites, do you have any tips?

hey man,

I don't do anything different for these sites than I do anything else except networking stites or a site like craigslist. Still most of the fundamentals stay the same. There isn't anything "special" you do just because it's adult friend finder or plenty of fish. We don't want to over complicate the situation.

Dude this is a really long answer but I don't want to leave you hanging.

Email me at Jon@JSmooth.org and I will give you a free copy of my Online Dating Blackbook that answers all these questions.

I think I answered part of this on my Ask JSmooth Thread for you...

Kbell,

Wow, great question. There is a lot too this actually so I will try and be as specific as I can with all of it. This might get to be a long answer but you'll have it down when we are done.

First of all, the most important thing by far with any part of your online profile is "congruence" with your personality. When a woman sees you being incongruent she thinks this profile is not really you and will get away quickly. My point with this is when I saw I'm going in my online profiles, I have pictures of me out in bars, clubs, doing stuff. I don't have pictures of me standing in my house alone.

The other thing with pictures is you definitely want to show you being active. Okay, one maybe two photos of you at home or something lilke that is fine. Still you want photos of doing whatever it is that you do on a regular basis. If you run have pictures of you running. If you play basketball then get a picture of you doing that. I think you get my point on this aspect.

Moving right along. Another huge thing I encourage people to demonstrate with their pictures is healthy relationships. If you have all your pictures on this profile. In some cases you might have 10 pictures or more. You want pictures of yourself with both your guy friends and women. Of course the pictures with women demonstrate pre-selection right. Well the pictures of men can help show "Leader of Men" qualities. But more importantly that leader of men, the pictures of you with guys show her that you do have friends and people like being around you.

One of the things I personally am concious of in the photo is what I am wearing. When I posted my latest successful ad on Craigslist. I had two back to back Lays and then 6 dates with that. Not bad... Anyways, in the ad I hate different styles. In one picture it was just me in a graphic t-shirt. Then another with a slightly more casual look. Then one with a dressy or snappy casual tone where I was wearing a sport coat and jeans. I like to show that I can be relaxed or dressed up a bit. Women take this into consideration. If the girl looking at this likes to go to nice places she can see me going there. IF she likes being more laid back she can see that too.

Other tips to keep in mind with photos:

-Be concious of what is going on in the background of a photo. Friends making dumb faces or even showing a messy house or something. A lot of people forget this rule.

-Also never have a picture on a profile that is over a year old. I prefer telling guys no longer than 6 months actually. If you don't have recent photos go out, do the photo opener, and get some pics. Have a friend go with you to take a few snapshots. In a few weeks you'll have a lot to choose from.

-No pictures with your shirt off or nude ever. The thing with this is some guys have nice bodies with the 6 pack abs and that's cool. Believe me most women know by looking at you if you have a nice body. Leave something to the imagination. For each women that likes that type of photo there are two others that don't. Remember looks aren't the biggest factor in attraction by a long shot.

-Make sure you are smiling and having fun in your pictures. You don't want pictures of you with a scowl on your face at all.

-Remember to edit the photo's when you can. With most computers you have a program on there to edit the red eye, crop out other people, and that sort of thing. It really does make a difference when you do this. A little bit of effort goes a long way.

-Post as many photos as you can. On dating sites post as many as it will allow you too. The profiles with more photos do so much better than those that don't. With using networking sites like Facebook and MySpace just post as you can.

-Remember to go back and update your online profiles and networking sites at least once a month if possible with a new photo or two that you can collected.

I think this should give you a great idea about how to use your photos to your advantage. They say pictures say 1,000 words. If you know what you are doing you can control which 1,000 words it says.

How do you write a well written profile?
Without going too far into this and making this the biggest forum post in history it would basically hit these points.

-What you are like, describe your personality, what do you like to do.
-What are you looking for, describe what she should be like, but don't get overly specific, and don't make a huge list.
-The type of relationship you want, regardless of what it is.
-Come across as confident and positive
-DHV yourself where you can

"Outgoing Man seeks LTR with Social Butterfly =)

I am looking for the girl next door basically. That classic looking girl who's somewhere in between tomboy and the girl that has 100 pairs of shoes in her closet. It helps if you are tall, and will earn you brownie points, being that I am 6'2. Looks will get you a ways...your energy, personality, sense of humor, and confidence will get you further though.

Just like the title says I'm very outgoing whether it be out to sing karaoke with friends, laughing at Zanies, or go dance somewhere downtown. Although sometimes I just need to chill and watch a movie at home. It seems like I am just about always hanging out somewhere, so it's important that you are social. I am seeking a LTR ultimately but we'll start with the date keep it simple and see what happens.

What about me? My friends would describe me as outgoing, intelligent, funny, realistic, analytical, and laid back. It's so hard to describe yourself on these things and if you're like me you looked at the photo straight away. If you are interested click the little link there and send me an email with a photo of yourself. "

Great Headline?
Basically, just don't go too cliche' on the headlines. Stuff like "Romeo seeks his Juliet" and stuff like that is way too overused. Try to be a bit more creative. I use stuff usually like "Anyone up for a go-kart challenge?" "Anyone for mini-golf?" "Any challengers for lasertag champ?" and stuff like that. It is fun and different that most of the stuff people post.

You want to be original and to the point in as few of words as we can use.

Hope all this helps answer the questions we had on here. I know some of the answers are long but I wanted to be as accurate as I could.

POF and OkCupid are the best of the free sites imo (I've never used a pay site). OKCupid has a great interface, and has many fun tests that HBs freakin' love. I haven't noticed any difference in the quality of HBs between POF and OKC, but maybe because I live in Los Angeles, there's plenty of HBs for both sites  .
