Hi, I am very recently single (I broke it off, ex is a nutter) and looking to get into the online game to compliment my decent normal bar/night game (going to try some day game as well which is a little nerving). Anyway, I've tried online in the past and not got very much out of it. I thought I'd give it another go and this seems to be the place to get advice. My profile on OK Cupid is MelbourneMatt, as I am very new to this I can't seem to find a quicker way to link to it. Here is the word version of my profile (sorry if it's a little long): Self Summary I'm really chilled out, like to spend time out with chilled friends, I work too hard to worry about bullshit in my free time. I love going out on the weekends and meeting cool new people, sport is my favourite hobby (you don't have too like football, just know that I absolutely love it), I work out regularly, like listening to music, etc etc blah blah blah... I'm always open to new people to meet and things to do. All I want right now is to meet new friends that I enjoy being around. Anything else really is a bonus. I have very high standards but will tolerate a lot if it makes you cuter or entertains me in someway. Looks are obviously important but not the only thing that matters, if you aren't that good looking but can cook really well I'm sure we will get along. What I’m doing with my life Taking each day as it comes is a start, I have ambitions and dreams, ask me about them, if I like you I'll tell you. I’m really good at Making new friends, chatting, meeting strangers. The first things people usually notice about me The fact that they don't know me yet they are talking to me anyway. I spend a lot of time thinking about The future, the past and the present On a typical Friday night I am Out and about, meeting new people, spending time with friends and more. The most private thing I’m willing to admit I once started an online dating profile, there I admitted it, please don't judge me! I also have a few pictures of me with attractive women (friends) and mates, as well as just some normal profile pictures. All feedback welcome! I've sent some messages off, don't seem to be getting much response right now though. |

Hey Mattr1984, That's a pretty good profile but I would suggest a few changes - from a woman's point of view. If you're "just looking for friends" why are you on a dating site? It sends the message to women that you aren't interested in attraction - ie them being attracted to you. This will only get you women who AREN'T attracted to you. Even if you are hot for them, you've already primed them to de-sexualise the whole thing. The other part you might want to consider changing is this part: "I have very high standards but will tolerate a lot if it makes you cuter or entertains me in someway. I understand you are just out of a relationship and may not be up for anything heavy, but this makes it sound like you'd be happy with any woman. It does not make it seem like you have "very high standards" as you claim. A man who is happy with an ok looking woman who can cook will be happy with his mother. YUCK -not a turn on. As a woman, the most important thing I want to know from you is that you are ATTRACTED to me - sexually, not that you think I'm all right but love my stir fry. It's pretty hard to write a profile to attract women when you hang back on fence looking for friends, and hope you'll get lucky and one will turn into more.
