| Post subject: | Guide to spotting betas? |
So I've been gaming this HB8 before class every wed and fri. Today I wasn't able to game at all but she sits next to me in class and ooh boy IOIs were overflowing. I was falling asleep in class but she was always punching my arm and disturbing my slumber asking questions like: "What did she (the teacher) say?" Then at one point she couldn't see the slides and she leaned over me like 1 or 2 inches from my face looking at the slides (which was totally unnecessary since she could have just stood up).. Anyway, at the end of the class, I borrowed her phone, called my phone and said: "Thanks for the number." She did the usual "pissed off" stare she always does when I tease her. So I get home and view her facebook. She has like 120 profile pics, about 20 of which have a pic of her with this guy either doing the same look as her or kissing her cheek or holding a rose.. Can't really post the pic for privacy purposes but at least based on my limited experience, I have a strong hunch this guy is a Beta. The last pic with him is dated March this year. All succeeding pics are the usual self-pic vanity... Maybe I'll post the pic some time but until then, do you guys think he is a beta? Can anyone give a guide on spotting betas? Cheers! (I'm actually really excited, this'll be my first bf destroyer if it goes well and I'm confident it will!) |

Dude, you're overanalyzing things. Especially if you've checked every of her 120 profile pics, just to see if her BF is what you call "a Beta". Just like in sports, don't worry about the opponents (her BF), make sure you're at your best the whole time with her. |

Agreed.Best way to spot a Beta? Look around. If you are truly an Alpha, everyone everywhere is Beta to you, unless you submit or are one upped. Otherwise, if you have to ask, he is Alpha and YOU are Beta. |

This is just so stupid and lame. The fact that your trying to "spot- betas" tells me your a beta your self man. It seems like your trying ultra hard to be an alpha when really your an insecure little boy point on a front for the world to see. May be it's just me but I'd say the best way to spot them is to be your self |

If you're questioning if he is beta, then already you're showing signs of insecurity, which is a big no no for a leader/Alpha male. Remember, you're always in control. You don't even think about it, it's just like that. Quote: Quote: Just like in sports, don't worry about the opponents (her BF), make sure you're at your best the whole time with her.

The need for asking this makes you a Beta. An 'Alpha' is never insecure about who the woman interacts with because he's just so damn sure, that at the end of the day she won't be finding any better than him. Stop worrying about mindless things, the day you do you'll become an Alpha. Or at least some important part of it. |

Quote: Now give me some rep bitches, I'm a man in need.
Heh, repped.@OP, let me give an example. Last night I went with a group to an informal Sake tasting hosted by a US based distribution consultant who reps one of Japans well known and esteemed breweries. The guy (we'll call him MJ) was one of those divorced mid-life crisis guys who are stuck in what I call Paranoid Alpha mode perminantly. I mean he just couldn't turn it off, to the point where it was a little irritating to the group and the wait staff that was taking care of us at the resturaunt. Me being an more confident Alpha knew it was up to me to control the situation so everyone could enjoy themselves. Here's how it went down. We come in and sit down and he starts barking at the wait staff to bring more appropriate glasses for the tasting. The guy was quite condescending and rude to the barely english speaking asian waitress. Instead of sitting sideline to a train wreck that would result in spit on food for all of us I said to him "I know the staff here, i'll take care of it". I didn't know shit, but I know how to work a situation. After some smooth talking and a little snide snip at MJ's expense I had a couple of the cute asian waitresses giggling and bringing us brandy and small white wine glasses. MJ: "oh perfect, I was getting worried there, very good - thank you" (1up for me.) After he started rattling on about sake facts, which were actually quite interesting, I noticed him eyeing up my date a lot more than any of the other girls at the table (I had the hottest date, to be expected). So I challenged him on a few facts that I know a thing or two about, just to show he wasn't the only one there that knew anything about the subject. MJ: "you seem to know quite a bit, that's refreshing. very good, Let's get started" (1up for me) He carried on, and continued blaytantly hitting on my girl. Now it's tradition in Japan to have someone else pour your Sake for you, and you always raise your glass from the table during. This guy was pouring his own glasses right on the table. I figured he knew better, but from probably dealing with many people who don't know anything about Sake culture in the US he most likely just didn't care. So I called him out on it tactfully by offering to pour HIS sake for him. he stumbled but then smiled and said "ah yes, how forgetful of me. Thank you" (neg him, 1up for me) And so on, you all get the point. It was a 3 hour event, and I never once acknowledged his advances, never showed any sign of feeling threatened and never gave the upper hand. By the end the whole table was asking me questions and centering conversation around me instead of him as he was so desperately grasping for. He realized his place. He definately had way too much rich snob grooming in him, but when it became clear he was not the top dog in the group he fell in line and relaxed a bit. He even offered to come back and bring our group more premium Sake and cook us an authentic Japanese dinner to pair with some of the higher end Sakes. In the end, he was a pretty cool dude. Instead of cowering to him in the begining and letting him ruin the event for everyone, he was put in his place. There was no need for fighting, no scuffle, no immature dramma, just good ol'fashioned smooth dominance. Now I have a pleasant aquaintence and connection into the Sake world I love so much. When we got home I got a very sexy thank you for making the evening so much fun, and a follow up this morning. Case and point. When you think about beta, you become beta. When you think about alpha so much that you act foolish, you are beta. When you don't give a shit about alpha becase you know you will always be the alpha, you are alpha. |

Fantastic example of Alpha behavior! We come in and sit down and he starts barking at the wait staff to bring more appropriate glasses for the tasting. You cant just act alpha you have to think, and act alpha/real man. I prefer the term real man because the term alpha has some arrogant implications to it which contradicts it very meaning. Ill tell you a story. I once worked at a restsurant as a server. I worked hars and was an honest employee. There is a clique of guys there who is made up of most of the male servers and the male cooks. Basically, all they do is act alpha (tough, talk about all the cool things they have done, hot women they have screwed etc). Several times they have ridiculed me in front of the female workers. I didnt care, i just replied with whatever, kept working, it did no bother me. I would talk to the female servers there when i feel like it, flirt with the female cook at the back. Whenever they see me do that they would majorly cockblock me and i would just usually laugh and ignore what they say. In all truth it was their domain. Despite that i knew and i felt i am so much higher than them. I know im a real man, not because i act tough, or talk tough, or has cool things but simply because i just know it. From time to time i would say or do lame things and they would totally make me look bad as much as they can, it didnt affect me. Before i left that place, i already fucked the female cook in the chiller, dated the only two female servers in that restaurant whom they have been trying to hit on every single day and always gets rejected. Betas are just that. Thy are people who try to act alpha but only ends up looking like try-hards because they do not know what it really means to be a man. Alphas/real men are not afraid to face pain, ridicule, etc in order to stick to what they want, what they think is right and what they believe in. |

Totally agree. Guys who try to "act Alpha" usually just come off as dicks because they don't know what it really means. True Alpha's make some of the best friends you can have... except they end up taking all the chicks. Lol!

May be it's just me but I'd say the best way to spot them is to be your self . I don't know maybe that's too profound for 90% of the community Gaius 100% correct! Respect! |
