1)

Read the mystery method or whatever and blindly believe everything they read. Read and dont understand the concept and just repeat whatever they have read and wonder why they fail.

2)

Understand the concept of some of the techniques of a method and overly focus on them. Likes the concept because it allows them to do whatever they wanna do in order to feel better. The best example here is the neg theory. It gives guys the possibility to have a smart comeback to any given girl who in this case represents all the other girls they have been rejected or hurt by. So out for revenge guys.

3)

Jump on to the PUA train. Following the pickup trend of the year or the month. Last year it was the neg, now inner game is the new black. Believeing that it is the solution to everything, that this is the holy grail. Believe me, there is no holy grail out there. You will have to work on every aspect.

4)

Avoid the hard bits. Hey, thats where you need work, thats whats gonna give you results.

5)

Believe stuff just because a more experienced PUA told you so.

Hope it raised some awareness...

Ezo

Couldn't have summed it up better myself. I'm guilty of making all these mistakes at some point.

Newbies - a good wake up call!

Does that mean I shouldn't listen to advice Ezo gives in this post?

... If you shouldn't listen to advice Ezo gives in this post, then you shouldn't listen to the fifth point and thus you SHOULD listen to Ezo's advice.

Can you say, Paradox?

I'm about 6 month into my PUA life so still kinda new but i made this mistake. Negs and teasing worked so damn well for me at the start of an interaction with a girl. I over did it though and kept teasing and being too much of an arsehole through out the whole relationship so girls ended up thinking i was just an arsehoel.

Silly me only worked this out a month or so ago, so I've actually had to re-learn how to be nice as being an arsehole to girls has become part of my personality. Have been getting much better results though now that i realise it's ok to be nice!

Question everything, don't take anything as gospel, no matter who it is. Try it for yourself, if it works for you and improves your game...BRILLIANT! keep it

I did this exact thing wowo!
Although I havnt completely recovered from being a neg-addict it was actually my natural self that negged women the way I did so reading all this PU mumbo-jumbo just made me realise I was doing ONE thing correct.
I'm still on my quest to tone it down

Avoid hard bits....
I can confidently say I was guilty of this up until a few weeks ago.
I 'lurked' around the forums attempting to built an arsenal that could penetrate any female force field, but truth be told I was just bottling up frustration because I wasn't having any SOCIAL release.
I found my cities Lair and went a few meetings and sarge sessions. I actually had Lair AA. I was nervous as hell! I bit the bullet, went, and came home a significantly happier and joyous guy!

Ezo great post!

I remember back in high school when I first found out about seduction material. I can only speak for myself but I remember thinking, "so I go up to a girl, ask her her opinion on something, get her response, make a comment on her 'x', she says oh ty blah blah blah then I proceed to tell her a funny story about what happened to me one time, she'll be soooo into it and then I'll get her number." Ha, yeah right. Like she's a fucking computer.

You have to remember that although this advice is good, it's just advice. Sure, some of us are so horrible we do NEED[is that too strong of a word perhaps] advice, but it's more about what we internalize on our own without realizing. I've made progress since high school and most of it I couldn't tell you what I'm doing differently because it happens so discreetly and naturally. When you go to math class a teacher can only tell you the rules of a certain concept or equation, every student breaks it down and learns it at a different pace. They can help you get better but ultimately if you want to succeed you have to help yourself.
