Hey guys, I'm trying to create an opener for day game to engage conversation, something maybe I could use in a coffee shop, in a retail outlet etc.

I'm baffed on what kind of approach to take, any ideas? Usually don't ask questions like this. In need of one tomorrow, me and my friend are sarging on saturday in the day up London.

Lollers. Don't blame ya, sometimes I get this exact same creativity block!

My daygame is pretty direct and situational, I usually go in with nothing in my head and your mind tends to randomly come up with something situational to say which you can usually bounce off.

But, I'm assuming you know all this so some opinion openers I've been using lately are:

- Who do you think is hotter - Pixie Lott or Kesha (I can safely say that of a sample of around 30-40 girls, Pixie is hotter by about 80%).

- What's the best way to let a girl down?

- I've been studying psychology recently. What's the first feeling you get when you see a guy and are really attracted? (Actually this is my standard old skool NLP entrance)

- A really safe bet is to get your wing to open by being really "nice-guy" chodey and asking for advice about a girl he reeeally likes (be all cute about it and they'd love to help). Then join the set, then your wing leaves once you've hooked and had your value raised by him. The reason for doing it this way is if you open with that opener, whilst you can still pull, it's a bit harder as you're already expressing direct interest in another girl.

I think the key is just to remember the power of situational though. Like you can even overhear something they are saying and just apologise and give your opinion on it. Or I saw a girl drawing once in a coffee shop and opened the two-set by saying "nice picture" and sitting down with them. As long as you're matching body language all's gravy.

Some fun ones to try:

- Hey are you a good driver? My friend and I are just about to rob a bank, you can drive us to safety, how much of the cut do you require?

- Wave 'hi' to her like you mean it, then when she waves back, apologise and point to your friend behind her. This gives you an 'in'.

- You have the most beautiful eyes. Are they real? (Go to poke them)

Other than that...just go direct...

Haha thanks Rafiel great information.

I was going to identify my target, pretend I'm on the phone talking about the subject of" who do you think's hotter and insert two names of famous people"

Then come off the phone and say hey, "who's hotter name +name" I've just been having this discussion bla bla.

Or maybe that's a bit long?

Lol. Yeah one of my wings use to do it a lot to great effect so I decided to try it a few times - it's pretty sound. I just recall us walking down a pitch black emptyish street at 9pm in the freezing cold trying to pickup street sets with him using that line hehe.

No worries Chelios.

Your idea sounds fine to me. I don't think it's too long, night game is less forgiving for a lengthy opener.

Some more tips I learnt during my daygame travels -

1. Know the area you are sarging in. Do your background research if necessary. This helps tremendously. You can add value by knowing all about the place or suggesting a day 2, or, it helps for situational openers such as asking directions somewhere.

2. On foreign sets - there are quite a lot in London. Having done a lot of daygame I've learnt bits of many different languages and about different countries. I know a 'natural' (hate the term) who picks up foreign girls like there's no tomorrow, he tells me just to know a bit about them and their country. So it's good to be cultural and maybe know a bit of their language. My Polish opener for instance is "Chesk-oh haania" which means "hey honey". Remember to tailor your game to their culture if necessary.

3. Picking on the right set. If you're having a competition, you'll get much more results much faster if you pick a set that looks like she's not on a mission. The best ones are when they are already sitting down. But any girl(s) that is not looking depressed and is not in a rush.

4. The trade-off between a situational opener and an opinion opener. A situational opener (such as asking for directions somewhere) is really easy because it's natural to the context. But it's hard to transition and doesn't generate much interest. A heavy opinion opener, or something similar, is harder to start with but easier once you get going.

5. Situational opener + interrupt. One great way to make a situational opener work is say you ask for directions to the train station. While she's giving them, just interrupt randomly and be like "Oh by the way do you study here?" It's important whilst you express this verbal interest you combine it with non-verbal disinterest by turning your body away as if you are leaving. You should aim to get 2 or 3 interrupts in an average dull situational opener like that. You can then use this key information to bounce off.

6. Combine 5. with the "omg no way" line. Basically this works like this: you're some random dude who needs some help. You ask the girl, then you gotta go meet your friends etc. Wait a second, she just HAPPENS to work at the same place as your mate. Or she lives near a sports centre you go to often. Silly you, there you were just trying to get some instructions then be on your way, but by pure coincidence, something about her is similar to you so now you guys have to stay for 2 mins longer to talk about it! And 2 mins becomes 10 mins becomes manically shagging in a taxi driver's face becomes...*ahem. But yeah, this helps you transition.

7. For shop worker game, just start by asking for help, incorporate DHV stories that show your personality, get her to really help you say looking for clothes or what not, to take you around, then the important part is to transition from her helping you to personal conversation. Once you're in the personal, these sets are easy game. Ask her to have lunch with you during her lunch break.

I'll just add one more to Rafiel's advices. One thing that works nicely, especially if you have mild AA, is to do somewhat of an pre-aproach and then going direct depending on the vibe.

So you can start indirect, basic questions work well:

" Hey do you know where I can find a Starbucks around here"
" That way/I don't know/blabla"
" Actually I'm not looking for a Starbucks, I just thought that you looked amazing in that bright red dress *insert a real compliment, don't go generic here* and wanted to know if you where friendly. "

Then just fluff and do your regular stuff. Insert a cold read here or there if you get stuck in convo.

Have fun!

Thanks guys, great info much appreicated. Rafiel great depth, I can put that into sections of my own game and work on my own material so thanks and that's good advice for AA TheJ, it'll help, because my day game is fairly weak, last saturday I did suffer with some AA.
