Post subject:  How are MPUAs rated?

Hi guys

Ok I don't get how the top MPUAs (like AFC Adam Lyons, Sinn, Gambler) are "rated" sure we have the words of PUA industry experts like

Thundercat

and Vince Kelvin

Image

Both are confirmed bachelors who have confessed to sleeping with supermodels and playboy centrefolds on a regular basis (I can't find the links but I'll post them on request. I know Vince Kelvin has a Same Night Sex system book out where he admits to sleeping with super models).

But back on topic how do they rate other MPUAs?

Its important as the above two experts are the ones who dish out awards in case your AFC friends wonder how MPUAs get rated.

I don't understand at all what you are talking about, what's your actual question?

And what do you mean by "confessed" and "admitted" to sleeping with super models, it's not like it is a crime or embarrassing in anyway.

Also, a mpua is usually just someone with good marketing skills, there are guys out there who are ten times better than any of the mpuas you are talking about, but they don't market themselves and they don't sell their ideas. Mpua is a business title and nothing else.

A Master Pick-Up Artist is someone who is strong in all areas, can teach their knowledge to others and can demonstrate if needed and successful in field!

In terms of how they're rated, I'm unsure.

Sly is bang on.

It's just a title people adopt for marketing purposes, often it's just thrown about by other people.

I've been called an MPUA and I am NOT anywhere near the skill level that that implies... at this stage at least.

It's usually just the name of a "respected" teacher in PU.

As I think Sly said, it's largely about marketing and there are many many amazing PUAs no one knows about, and that's forgetting all the 'naturals' (I hate the term).

However, if you're interested in how they're rated, most self-proclaimed official 'lists' have their criteria openly publicised, such as Thundercats. I can't remember what his was but he says quite specifically how he judges/rates PUAs in order to create his top ten or whatever.

The top ten lists by people like Thundercat are pretty much entirely dependent on business affiliations. All the stuff they say about rating these PUAs by "skill level" and stuff like that is all just marketing BS.

At least that's what I've heard through the grapevine
And I'm pretty damn tangled up in the PUA community's grapevine...

i once heard. to become a mpua you have to be able to open 15 sets in a row and close every one of them. i don't know if a number close is enuff or if it has to be a full close. but i guess it's the last.

personely i belief your a mpua if you understand everything you do when you're gaming. and when you're in a total controle of it. and ofcourse you have to be able to demonstrate it.

Indeed. Everyone I've ever talked to who is on one of those top ten lists has told me that they don't consider themselves a "pua", "m-pooh-ah", or a "guru". They tell me that most of the other guys on the lists bend the truth a lot and that most of the stories you hear are bits and pieces of several stories all weaved together in order create something much more impressive (sounds kinda like running game on a chick...but they wouldn't do that to us....nah). The rivalries and good guy/bad guy stuff is just more drama to get attention and make people notice them so that they can sell their product. They're salesmen trying to make a living and that's totally cool, but most of it is just superficial (or at least used to be) and not real self confidence and improvement. It's Hollywood, just like most of society...

Don't get the wrong impression though, I have no problem with the community at all, I just think that if you want to rank the best coaches in the world, you're better at going on personal recommendations from people you trust with you money and your emotional/personal well-being. If someone got great results from someone, then you probably will too, but if they tell you it was a waste of money, then being one of the five best coaches in the industry doesn't mean a lot aside from some silly bragging rights to having wasted a lot of money on something that ends up turning away probably close to 50% of people who are members of the community at some point in their lives. I can change a wikipedia page to say that unicorns are real and they fart rainbows, why do you assume the reviews on a site are real (I know I edit out the boring parts when I post reviews of my workshops, so why wouldn't they?).

2 people who I HIGHLY recommend:

Sean Messenger
Johnny Soporno
