Alot of people think its best to get the girls number, so that you can control the situation and that she cant "not call you back" but I think this is the wrong way to look at it.

If she doesnt wanna make contact with you, then shes not gonna want to answer your calls or reply to your texts either.

What Ive been doing lately is giving the girl my number if i believe we had a good enough of an interaction. let her make the next move and let her invest in the relationship a bit rather than it always look like youre the one hitting on her. This way it seems like you might be the one who could flake on her instead of visa versa.

This doesnt mean you should ONLY do this, but give it a try and see for yourself. You need to have an unbiased view of the interaction to determine if you believe she would want to see you again.

I still do however, get their numbers for a whole variety of reasons, if i feel its the best option at the time and that ill need to make the next move. etc.

I used this exclusively as a single man. It has the added bonus of demonstrating one last "oomph" of non-neediness as well, which is always a plus.

Not to mention, a girl who calls you first is highly unlikely to flake.

This too has worked greatly in my case. I do more of an exchange of numbers than just give her mine, its also about taking control. Some shy girls may not be up for calling so you have to caliberate.

yeah i think its great. just the other day i gave my number to this girl i was hanging with, who i thought made great connection with as well, and later that night when i was sarging, was blowing up my phone.
i try to keep it equal tho, cause if you give out your number to, to many..then it just becomes annoying lol

Even though I'm new to all this, I have completely had that same thought. To me giving her your number is like saying 'yep, you bet you're gonna call me!'

I think the difference is when you say 'umm, why don't we, uh, swap numbers or get in touch or something' and she says 'ok, you give me your number.' That will probably be a blow off.
