Something really strange happened this weekend. I met up my friend and his girlfriend. And we got talking. We ended up talking the entier Sat evening and she was very intellectual and talking about a lot of serious stuff.

I changed topics on Some fun stuff but could see that she enjoyed most talking about highly intellectual stuff and everytime topic came back to 'opinions' Her face would lit up and she would come up with the most logical and rational answers but they werent fun !! just very honest and intellectual !!

I dont know why but after I left the conv. later next morning I felt really depressed or kind of frustrated. She didnt say anything that would elude to that but still.......

I wondered whether that is the case when girls meet boring guys or whether this is what you call a social parasite to be.

Guys known anyone that you met once, they were nice but you never wanted to meet them again for reasons you couldnt explain?

A social parasite is someone who lives for free off society with no contribution back to the group whatsoever like working, research, volunteerism, etc. It's a big difference from being a kill-joy.

People talk about boring shit all the time and for no good reason. They do it to satisfy their own egos (I'm talking about intelligent stuff because people will think I'm smart and better than everyone else), to prove a point (If I'm talking about intelligent stuff, it will cure my social anxiety and make people like me), or just because they don't know how to socialize.

Gauge the group - if everyone's totally digging the smart chick, it will be hard to steer that conversation into something fun and playful. If you want to keep it going, you might need to find ways to contribute that are based more on wit and zingers than on just your normal cocky routine.

Better yet, if you see a convo heading in the overly intellectual direction, rescue it fast before everyone locks into a heated debate. That, or find a new set of girls to game who aren't going to cock-block you with their minds.

Some people actually find politics/theology/psychology/society/science interesting as well
On a serious note of course you are going to find people who use there intellect as a social proof; but these people tend to alienate themselves from the group so damn fast that there is rarely anything for you to worry about.

While you are correct; that heated intellectual debate to the point where it is damaging group dynamics or creating embitterment should be avoided.

Being able to engage on that intellectual level in discussion rather than debate is a fantastic trait to have! Cause frankly most people can't converse (or just find the topics stuffy and boring) about those subjects. So a hot guy who can meet those girls on that level and stimulate them in those kinds of conversations is an absolute god send! :)

Alternatively if that isn't your scene and you have no intent to get involved with someone like that then you may as well be better off leaving and finding people somewhere else.

I think he means that she would only talk about intellectual stuff or what she wanted to talk about only.

Equivalent to me just talking about football and changing back to football whenever the topic was changed. Those people are so annoying.

I could be wrong but that's what I perceived it as.

Kudos to trixsta !! That is partly right. And it was more than that just not the intellectual thing.....I cant put a fingure on anything specific but there was something about this girl/conversation that was very depressing. It was like...I dont know...........but something was off......something was just ........aahhhh.... I dont know.....
