When it comes to this community there seems to be most two groups of guys. Group 1: "Product Junkies" The product junkies watch every video, listen to every audio, and read every text. They know tons of theory and but very little infield experience (or at least less than they should.) Group 2: The "Anti-Product" Guy. This group of men will usually preach something along the lines of "you don't need products, just go meet women." This group seems to find products most useless, (or less useful than infield experience.) Most people wont admit to being in either one of these categories but the fact is, about 70 - 80% of guys on PUA discussion forums fit into one of these two. I am in the minority. Both products and infield experience have a place. Here is my view on it: View, listen, read as much as you want but spend THREE times as much time infield. For example: "Flawless Natural" by RSD is a 6 hour (roughly) long DVD course. Feel free to watch it but make sure you spend 18 hours in field after watching it. I call it "The 3:1 ratio" Personally, I have studied almost all the major products and some less known ones as well. I have also kept the 3:1 ratio has my main rule. One of the reasons I have became so good is because I both viewed the products AND got valuable infield experience. Both products and infield experience have its place. Don't fall into the trap of being in one of the two groups. Be your own damn group! |

I'm not the type to use products but I'm not gonna talk down to anyone that does. Whatever works for them. |

i don't use products nor do I spend much time "sarging" I read everything from books on NLP to mystery's book and on this forum. I'm not going to go to the bar and go from girl to girl saying the same things until I find one desperate enough to go home with me. I'm looking for real connections. I'm going to the bar to hang out with my friends and have a good time. And if I happen upon someone I find attractive or interesting i'm going to try to take her home while still being myself. I'm on these forums mostly to internalize all of the things I pretty much already know about psychology. There are so many things that are involved with human attraction and it seems like everyone on this board is obsessed with learning how to get girl from 0-bed in as fast as possible without wondering what exactly made her so attracted to you. Let me tell everyone this, you master human psychology and understand all of it then not only will your relationships with girls get better. You will learn how to manipulate every situation to get exactly what you want. better job better friends whatever... |

i spent about 3 years in the first catagorie then i went to college realised that having so much junk crammed in my head was bad and purposely made myself forget most of it, so group one then group two except i have all the knowlage stored in my brain so i can use it when i need to analyse situations.

I am a product junkie, but only because I'm really curious and want to know everything. But now I'm stopping watching/listening/reading this stuff and I'm dropping what doesn't work for me and building my own style. It's a long process. My innergame is fixed now. Now I'll only practice, practice and practice. |

I am definitely not a product junkie but I do use it a lot. When I hit a sticking point in the field I go back here and figure out how to fix it next time. I basically just use this stuff for when I fail in the field to help me for future experiences. I am interested in all the theories and all that stuff but they are simply that, THEORIES. You gotta go out there and see what works best for YOU. |

Im a mix, I got where I was with very little material and to a large extent I believe "best way to get good at judo is judo." But the material is there for a reason to help people to learn, so I suport anyone who does read on these things as long as it isn't the focus in PU. |

experience is all you need... there are 2 kinds of experiences: yours and someone else's you can learn a lot from watching someone in action you can learn a hell of a lot from both negative and positive responses from women towards you |

I was the first category for a while, sure you learn alot of stuff from other people, but you never really get it, once you start going out in-field stuff starts to click and you'll start to understand. I think the first category takes much, much longer than the second to get to your specific goal, and even then, it's not always accurate. |

I just think there should be a balance of both characteristics. Some people here are starting from ground zero, so yes, material is useful to them. However, material is not useful if it is not utilized and tested out. Somethings that work for some people won't work for others so trial and error is important. At my college, you have a balance of both material and hands-on practice whenever you take any science. Chemistry for example, consists of different class styles depending on the day of the week. Some classes are lectures / textbook-follow-along while other classes are actually messing around with different mixtures and whatnot. It's all in good balance. You learn a little, then test it out. Learn some more, and test it out. |
