| Post subject: | The Value of Worthlessness... (Just a thought) |
This post can likely help with a range of things, such as Approach Anxiety, Ego, Value issues, etc... but, it isn't meant as a solution. It's main purpose, is to get you to question/challenge your own pre-existing beliefs on Value. As we all should know, and most likely do know, a lot of people who are fresh into the community, often have very low selft esteem, confidence, come in with band mindsets, bad beliefs, etc etc. The most popular piece of advice that seems to be thrown their way, is 'just be high value', or 'just see yourself as above everyone else' and similar things. Now, even though I found this easy to do, I have had periods of my life where I ave genuinely feel high value, and fully content with my life and who I was, and I partake in activities that I bring this state out in me. But some people, are just unable to grasp this idea, and will find it incredibly hard, if not near to impossible to achieve, and even if they do, it is built on shakey foundations. ...The trees on the mountain can be used to build and so are cut down... Also, setting yourself as 'high value' gives you something to lose. Something that can be taken from you. For people with AA, and with low self esteem, giving them/telling them to have this high value view of themselfs, gives them a LOT to lose, and getting cut down in field, with their already existing(yet now weakly protected) inner being, they gonna have an even harder fall. Also, having this 'high value' really plays into the hands of 'feeding your ego', which is something that really needs to be let go of, in all walks of life, but especially in PU. Theres a whole load of reasons why ego is detrimental to game, but I will likely cover that in a seperate post. ...Everyone knows the usefulness of the useful... Now, this whole idea of 'worthlessness' is going to be a tough one to explain, especially in its relation to how it could be beneficial in PU. Bearing in mind, the only reason for this post, is to challenge your pre-existing beliefs on value. But bare with me... ...But no one knows the usefulness of the useless! Now, imagine being worthless. Approaching a girl with the belief of being worthless. What reason would you have for Approach Anxiety? None. Approach Anxiety comes from the fear of rejection, the fear of your pride/ego being hurt, your value/perception of yourself being lowered. Now, you should hopefully be able to see why seeing yourself as high value/better than others is now detrimental to game. It is more than often, the friend of ego. And only adds to AA and risk or being lower value. It also gives you the need to DHV or to feel High Value, and you will start looking for evidence to validate this, and ways to prove your value to others. Seeking/searching/needing validation. This type of value, is the way of the validation seeking ego. See the good of worthlessness, and live free of needing to prove yourself... ...The Value of Worthlessness... A carpenter was travelling with his helper and came to a town where a huge oak tree filled the square. It was gigantic, with many branches spreading out; large enough to shade a hundred oxen and its shade covered the entire square. The helper was amazed by the potential lumber held by this one tree but the carpenter passed it by with a mere glance. When questioned by his helper as to why he passed up such a magnificent specimen, the carpenter replied he could see instantly the great oak's branches were useless to him. "They are so hard that were I to take my axe to them it would split. The wood is so heavy that a boat made of it would sink. The branches themselves are so twisted they can't be made into planks. If I tried to fashion housebeams with it they would collapse. A coffin made from it would not be big enough to fit someone inside. Altogether this is a useless tree. And that is the secret to its long life." Know your value to yourself and your desires. Not to others'. Don't seek to be of value to others, else their use of you will only be functional and beneficial to them. Be only of worth to yourself, and allow others to share in that. Wisdom is knowing you're nothing... Love is knowing you're everything... Try to live somewhere between the two. ~Liquid Blend |

One of the hardest things to understand in life is duality. Life isnt always black and white, sometimes it is grey, and sometimes it is like 5 colors at the same time. The stuff you are talking about is deep Liquid. Sometines I talk about that stuff with my philosophy major friends after their "herbal cigarrete". I'm sure that only a few guys here will truly understant it. Reading this I rememberet that dude Milan Kundera, he has a book on this crap... "The unbearable lightness of being" |

I just remembered a similair thought I had a few weeks back: You think you are something. Let's say you think you're smart. And you make a dumb remark, you say something silly, something that's not congruent with you being 'smart'. How would that feel? You'd probably feel embarresed, you crumble and you lose your state. In any way you feel some kind of pain If being something you think you are means feeling pain when you are not. Then why not let go of those thoughts and be simply, you. Just you. Not a smart you or a PUA you. Nobody can deny you being human. Think about it. |

^ as above, sametime it talks about your default external stuff- people generally think it is better to show strength however from that is a insecurity at its root.Quote: ...But no one knows the usefulness of the useless!
