Lately I have seen too many posts about how PUAs are creeps, bad people, manipulative con men etc. I have read posts from newbies who look down on the forum, they think they are better than us who hang out here regularly, they think this stuff is simply for guys who can’t meet girls unless the use sneaky tricks. But yet, they are hanging out here, did you sign up to the forum simply to complain? If you think it is all so bad, what is your pathetic ass doing here? And most of these guys only read “the game” and they think they know everything about the community, they think that Style and Mystery are our role models and that we only repeat what they do and that using canned material means that you are a PUA. Well I got news for you kids, Mystery was not the first PUA, he is not the last and his methods are but a drop in the ocean of great pick up techniques. See, pick up is the real deal, everyone is doing it, you can call them AFCs RAFCs chodes PUAs or MPUAs or whatever, but the truth is: All men do it! That’s how we meet women, it has been done for centuries. When you were thirteen years old and you asked a girl for her email address for the first time, guess what, you were picking her up. If you decide that you want to learn how to draw, you start simple, by drawing stick men and simple figures, later you might move up and painting with brushes and trying to replicate other peoples work, when you have mastered that you create your own style creating amazing and unique paintings, people will be impressed by your work and when people respect you and put your work in their gallery or home and call your paintings works of art then you will be recognized as an artist. Not before that, everyone can paint or draw, but there are different levels of skill. Becoming an artist takes tremendous amount of work! It is the same thing with pick up, everyone can do it, but only by doing it with real class in your own unique way will you be recognized as an artist, a Pick Up Artist. A pick up artist is anyone who is an expert of picking up women with class, no matter which techniques he uses. So if you don’t understand the business, don’t complain, don’t be a hater, do your homework! Being able to call yourself a Pick Up Artist is an honor and a privilege, treasure it! |

Grape, try not to direct things as "personal attacks" - I can assure you there are more than a few people who have, over the time I have been here, made negative about the community. One of the big problems with new people who come here is, like skywalker said, is they only know a little bit about PUA and draw conclusions from it. For example, there are people on the forum and in the commercial PUA world who write all their material as "getting laid" "lets go nail some chicks" etc. Naturally, these books are seen far more because sex attracts (its basic marketing). Now, imagine if you read 2-3 books like those described, your will have an opinion about the PUA community. This initial opinion will take a lot to change (first impressions). Most people are normally not motivated to learn or know there is other stuff before they start saying negative things on the forum. This sort of behaviour doesn't only effect PUA but many things, people's first few experiences (or what they are told about something) effect how they view the whole subject and therefore stereotype the whole group on their original opinions. Unfortunately, once a group is stereotyped people don't have the time/urge/money to see if their opinion is justified. However, while people who stereotype PUA annoy me (and many others) I don't think any of us can honestly say there isn't something we have a stereotypical view on (religion, race, gender, political views etc etc) - so don't be too quick to preach! To people who have a negative view on PUA (or anything) I have one piece of advice, spend the time to learn more about the subject and have a more open mind. Madals |
