That really does suck. What I would suggest you do is get with some friends and just go out a few times to have fun and be social! Forget about women for a while and just have a month or so of fun :D
Remember why your mindset was so good before, and look at what has changed. You said yourself your GF was only part of the reason for it, so what was the rest? That is what you need to find out :)

It's pretty normal to run into some depression. The idea that the human brain will just cruise along and make your life happy is bullshit. Sometimes you actually have to jump in and un-brainfuck yourself.

We all feel down sometimes.

So un-down yourself.

First off, get rid of the negative thoughts and set goals. If your brain is thinking things like "I'm a fucking loser", "Women suck", "Everything is bullshit". Change them to "I fucking kick ass", "I want to bang all the hot women on campus because they are fun to be with", "Everything is gonna be great".

Visualize the guy you want to be. See him in your mind and start getting there again. Step by step. FIgure out what needs to be done. Last semester you had a good run. This semester sucks. Hey man, that is life, you never stay on top always, don't feel bad about that. Just start working your way back up.

Start liking yourself and other people. Work on socializing. Start ego-boosting people. Making them feel good will make you feel good. Go into Burger King and find the biggest sad sack of shit cashier they have. Flirt with her, tell her how hot she is. Make her day.

Hey man,, that's just some ideas. the other guys have great ones too. Just figure out what would work for you.

Last semester in college was a major growing experience for me. As far as picking up girls, I started at the bottom (showing little or no confidence around girls) and I rose to the top. My mindset became great, and my life was going super smooth. I was living a life i was proud of. I even managed to get a girlfriend which was key in developing this great mindset. This semester is all different though.

I have been mostly depressed throughout this new semester. My gf and I have broken up which contributed to the depression, along with other things. Basically, this semester has been less of a growing experience for me. I've been feeling hopeless and bound to my room, similar to how I felt in the beginning of last semester; the only difference is that this hopelessness has been going on for much longer. So my question is, how does one get out of this rut? I did it last time with ease, but I'm having some difficulties this time around. It's funny though, I never thought it was one-itis because I never thought about this girl. Throughout this semester though it became more evident that it was one-itis because I kept having dreams about her... and waking up melancholy.

maybe you need to start with: STOP BEING SUCH A PANSY.
"Baw baw, my life sucks etc etc." isn't gonna get you anywhere.

You obviously have it in you to rise above that pathetic situation where you're in now since you've done it before.

Fuck any negative thoughts. Reframe them as positive. and you should be well on your way.
