So, you guys tell me this. At one of the meetup groups I've been going to, I keep running into this one young lady. Now, I have absolutely no attraction to her...she has a cute face, but she's a big girl (probably 200+ lbs) and her body language just screams "low self-esteem". She's got a really sweet personality though, a nice smile, and really long hair. I kinda feel sorry for her...people end up dancing and I've never seen anyone ask her to dance. Again, I don't have ANY interest in her myself, but I'm tempted to grab her for a friendly dance just to make her feel good. She IS a nice person after all. That actually brought this question to my mind: how would that be perceived by other folks in the group, especially ladies in the group whom I might be interested in? Here are the thoughts: 1) Awww, how sweet...Gruuve is giving BigGirl a "mercy" dance just to make her feel good. What a nice guy! (I have a feeling this is what ladies would probably think...probably some "social proof" in this maybe?) 2) Gruuve must be desperate, he's trying to pickup BigGirl. (I have a feeling this is what guys would probably think. LOL. Of course, I don't care what the guys think nearly as much as what the ladies think.) So, how do you think this would be perceived? Just curious... Gruuve |

You shouldn't care what other people think. If the girl's nice, ask her to dance. You're having fun and other women will see that you're not shallow at least. Make sure the girl knows where she stands though... don't give the wrong impression (like you're attracted to her). |

Yeah, definitely agreed. I wouldn't say I care what everyone else thinks, was just curious on how it would be perceived by women mainly. So, I guess it falls into the same category as everything else...if you're bringing the fun, it's going to be appealing to other women. Gruuve |
