Anyone ever studied Robert Greene as a PUA? I'm just reading his "the art of seduction", and although it is somewhat archaic it is really different to anything I've ever studied before. His depth of knowledge of the history of seduction is also fascinating. I'm not sure if I expect an answer to this but if anyone wants to discuss his principles I'd love to. |

Rake rake rake! That French dude was win! You might want to watch it with Greene, though. He views seduction as the act of completely taking over someone's mind. I prefer to keep my action a lot lighter than that. Get too deep into the way he does things and you might find this game getting very, very negative. |

Yeah I was going to mention the Rake chapter too when I saw this thread, too. It's a really interesting theory that seems to be most similar to Zan Perrion's style more than anybody else's.Stormy was actually the one who recommended me to read that book just for the sake of the Rake chapter. I think it's a severely underrated method of practicing seduction because it's probably easy to confuse with needy behavior like supplication. One must identify that fine line to understand the Rake. |

That's fascinating. My mind still can't process how this would work, how to incoorporate the rake into my game. Because all women have an idealistic fantasy for men who offer the rake, and yet, as you mentioned Chiefy, it's so difficult to use the rake without supplicating. Perhaps it's the old lover/provider distinction...one must be a lover first and a provider second...perhaps the rake is a tool to be used well into comfort, or perhaps even after seduction to keep them coming back for seconds. Hmm. I am the rake for my 'one-itis', I'll tell ya that much. Maybe that's why all she ever talks about is Harry Potter... |
