Post subject:  Lets discuss tattoos

Hello
I dont want to talk about how good tattoos are for peacocking or just attracting girls. Its damn obvious that it works to an insane level.

Anyways I really like tattoos. I enjoy looking at some of the famouse tattoo artist works around here and ive been really contimplating on starting my arm sleeve. The problem is i dont want to miss out on job oppurtunities because of my arm sleeve. This generation is tattoo crazy its a lot more acceptable than last generation so when my dad says ill never get a job because of it, hes comparing it to his generation.

What are your guys opinion on tattoos?

I think they're sexy as hell on girls. I'm going to get one myself before the weather breaks on my upper right arm. They're great convo starters, but I could see women getting tired of dudes asking about their tatts all the time.

My opinion - I don't like tattoos. I simply don't, even though I put this Hena Tattoo from time to time. I am just not fan from destroying my own skin and putting ink in it.

Carpe Diem.

I have yet to see a person that I've worked with professionally with one showing. If they have one, it's easily hidden when wearing business attire.

Depends of what you tatoo..do a tribal draggie and your screwed tatoo a memory, happy or sad and you got something to talk about everytime someone points it out.

Tattoos are not professional. They are a statement against the mainstream mindset.

They are losing some of their stigma as this but not with the generation that matters, your fathers.

These are the people that are running the companies where you may want to be employed at. These are the people that will be making judgements against you because of the tattoos.

With all of that said, I know a CEO of a company that makes well into the six figures that has 70% of his body covered. You would never know it when he wears his suite to work but because of this, he never wears short sleeves. He has an apperance to keep and the tattoos would prevent this.

Think of the future and determine the best place to put it. You have to think in the mindset that you will eventually work in the corporate world and have to hide it. Do you want to be able to wear short sleeves?

Second part is, get something that means something to you. Something that in 10 years you will be able to speak on why you got it. Something you can still be proud of. I am currently working on the design for my second tattoo. Been working on it for almost six months now. Almost complete. I have another tattoo on my ankle that I have had for 13 years. Still love it as it means a great deal to me. The tattoo I am currently designing is going on my right chest.

Both are able to be covered when I need to.

Just what I was about to say Valence...

just some things ...

Be sure that you want to make the tattoo

Don't make the tattoo only because you want it as a peacocking item !!

Why not trying first a henna tattoo and get used to it (They last like 2 weeks)

And what Valence said , about the job , they are not professional and some people will look at you as a junkie :?

Yea I agree with xfman, but the man is good he knows that it peacocks and already said it's his likes, not just a caprice, but now, mmm as far as your question goes, depends on you job, for example I would pass, since Im in business, (also plannin to get one), and i usually wear long sleeve shirts n coats

My two cents

You want to peacock for the next 5 years or so, not the rest of your life. Don't looks like an idiot with a sleeve when you are 40 years old and its clearly out of fashion (if you have a sleeve, sorry i've offended you; but i'm keeping it real)

And yes, you will miss out on job opportuinities, everyone will judge you.

Tattoo's aren't for peacocking, I know they work for it, but if that's the only reason then you're a fucking idiot. They're an expression of a personality in one way or another, could be as simple as I like this. If you want a tattoo get one, it shouldn't involve being a pua, plus they only attract a certain type of chick.

I have quite a few piercings, and I thought chicks would love them, but the majority I've been with were impartial, or didn't like them.

I beilive that no one was saying they wanted a tattoo for peacocking purpose. I was mostly concerened about how it would affect my buisness life and wanted two cents.

I agree sleeves do look retarded when you 30 years older and have no style.. ha I wont let that happen though. Ill try to be a stylish 40 year old

i am a tattooist and i must say that a lot of the time the girl will intitiate kino right off the bat.....especially if it's quality shit and says some quality shit about you.....then they want to know more about you.....if you have a high quality story to back that up it;s fairly easy to keep them chasing you after that if you can hold the value....
but i agree.....get it because you want to and it's congruent with who you are......if she smells that you did that to get attention/girls/compensation for what you lack i can imagine that wouldnt be too cool.....plus its just plain disrespect for the art and youself......but then again some chicks dont give a shit what it is and just get wet at the sight of them....

also if there are any puas or aspiring puas in calgary that want tattoos/wing man let me know and we can arrange it!

No to tramp stamps, just leaves me with a bad first impression. Basically to me its just saying "hey, fuck me doggystyle because thats the best time to get a good view of it."

Thats just my personal opinion on that subject, i prefer high class chicks anyways.

If it's a sleeve on your arm you'll be fine. Most employers are only concerned about tattoos you can't cover, ie. on your hands or neck/face. I have both my forearms tattooed and have never had trouble getting a job. Well, I have, but it wasn't because of the ink... just keep them under long sleeves for the interview and don't mention them unless you're asked. If they make a big deal of it and you have to wear short sleeves a lot, I read about a product called Dermablend which you can use to cover them up.
