Post subject:  PUA Terminology Rant...

If you don't like rants then please feel free to look past this post.

Is it just me or are you sick of all the damn terminology in this community? There are things I read on this forum almost annoy me like a splinter in your finger that you just can't remove but you feel it every time a muscle in your finger tenses. It annoys you and nags at your brain. It is the same with some of the terminology we use in this community we are a part of.

Things like Online Game, Day Game, Night Game, Text Game, Waitress Game, Hired Gun Game, Stripper Game, What The F--k Game.... Okay, you are on a site for PUAs to come and share their ideas I think it's a give me you are running some sort of "game" or systematic approach to getting a girl. Why do we have to label everything in the world xxxx Game. This is just absolutely stupid.

Another great annoyance of me is DHV, DLV, Neg, AMOG, FTC, C+F etc. I know most of these terms originate from Mystery and I completely understand what people mean when they use them without thinking about it. These terms at some point became part of my everday language too. We have about as many acronyms as the military.

Seriously though why can't people just come on here and right about the fact they were telling a girl a story instead of saying, "Well I was into my DHV stack and I was being completely C+F with her, and after a few negs she hooked." Geez could we be anymore nerds here?!? We officially have our own language.

PUA Names and Handles for the most part irritate me. My name is "Jon" and you are welcome to call me "Jon" all you want. I can't get much more anonmytity (<<---Spelling error I know) from being called by my first name. I can understand the need for privacy but really I am not going to call a guy up and be like hey can I speak to ugh, "UberPlayerUltraCool"? or "ChocolateThunder?" I'm a grown ass man, please call me "Jon" and I'll call you Steve, George, Jack, Sean, or whatever you name is.

C+F or Cocky Funny. I love it when I read a field report and a guy says well " I used cocky funny" or "I was cocky funny" or "I threw in some cocky funny." Do you know what you are talking about? Okay so basically you said something sarcastic. People throw it around like they are trying to prove they know what they are talking about. Please stop....

Lastly the Pick Up Community as it is...What the hell? This is just the dating community. We are single people for the most part, we are dating. That is all it is... Is there an "Art" to what we do...well for some of us there is.

Hate me for calling our stupid terms into the light if you wish. Take into consideration that most of these terms were developed by a guy, Erik Von Markovick aka Mystery. This guy before PUA was terrible with women and loved "Dungeons and Dragons" which has a ton of its own terms and quirks. Gee why does that sound familiar. Lil' Erik created a Dungeon and Dragon game played with people, ahhh how cute!

Don't get me wrong Mystery has done a lot for the community and has helped a lot of guys out there get going. I have no ill will towards him as a person or a teacher, I just hate the damn terminology that came along with this package. You may even catch me using it from time to time in my posts. Let's just dispense with the crap, and call it what it is.

Peace & Happy Halloween!

i agree J. two things i feel like responding with:
Quote:
. We have about as many acronyms as the military
1.we are similar to the military. we are a movement, which is growing, and we have so many technicalities it is unreal. the military use codes and emblems to communicate without the enemies understanding. everytime i go out and sarge i use acronyms with my wing to tell each other what to do. the female isnt the enemy - but if she intercepts the messages being communicated and understands them me and my wing have lost the battle.

2.you say that having all of these technicall terms is nerdish. newsflash: most of the newcomers ARE nerds. and some of the best PUA's in the world are who they are because they were nerds. without nerds this movement would be a few smooth talkers going out for a good time. we apply the logic to it. we ARE the nerds. (cant believe i just called myself a nerd lol).

but i do agree it has got to a slightly ridiculous level - why should we use code amongst ourselves with no enemy present???

Jon :wink: ,
I see what your saying for the most part and YES at times it gets on my nerves. However, it has saved me a lot of time when writing posts and stuff.
For example, if you suggest someone needs to practice DHVing they can learn the skill rather than typing them out a whole story which wont be relavant.
Dont get me wrong, they are definatly over used, but like most things..... they are good in a small amount.
I compleatly back up your point about people using them when they dont understand what they really mean (not what they stand for, but the skills they involve).

Adam :wink:

Why must you always try to be an AMOG? Seriously, stop showing active disinterest of the lexicon... your totally DLV'ing yourself. This is not the way your suppose to act in forum game. If you continue this, I am no longer running entourage game with you Jsmooth, my HSE wing. Don't mind me as I turn my back to you...

How's it feel? I bet it feels cold! Freezeee outtt
HAHAHHA.... :lol: I am seriously ROFLMAO (ROLLING ON THE FLOOR LAUGHING MY ASS OFF).

It can be irritating when the jargon is unnecessary.

Neg = Banter
AFC = Looser
PUA = Player
the list goes on. Start hanging around community guys and it catches on. Something I don't really like, because everyone is in this game even if abstaining from sex.

Ahh, i ain't too bothered most of the time i'll insert a lil acronym here and there to shorten my posts.

These kind of things are to trivial to rant over, and as a result i'll assume you were extremely bored.

Actually Negs are insults with a little bit of nice in them to hide the fact that you are trashing her self esteem because of your own lack thereof. Banter is just that, banter.

the thing that rages me the hardest is HB, honestly other than keyboard wheeling fucktards who has called a girl a hot babe since the 80's and the ad thing is I feel the need to use it despite my hatred so people can understand (attractive girl, intelligent woman etc don't exist to most people which blows)

also the use of AFC like suddenly we are better than them is bullshit and bugs me. It's like what if hte community wrote you off before you could learn? would you be here tlaking?

J (I'm not gonna call you Jon, because you've always been and always will be J to me, just like I have nicknames for some friends that are typically just shortened versions of their real names) I believe you deserve a gold star, but unfortunately there isn't an emoticon for that...

I've actively begun chastising people for using the terminology because it actually has made people into creepy, brainwashed mofos and I want to put an end to that. I know a lot of more enlightened guys are doing the same thing and I'm not surprised that you are doing it because you've always been at the head of the pack in that area.

If you want to shorten your posts then shorten your posts. Actually, this has bothered me for a while. As I said to me it's about the equivilant of saying I'm a level 43 dungeon master or making up works on the playground at school for inside jokes. It's not like I hate people that use it, I just think the terminology in itself is stupid.

There are literally a hundred words for the male organ. I'll refrain from listing them all but for sake it's a c-ck! You can list probably a good 20 or more by yourself, why not just call it what it is instead of making another term up.

I am quite glad there are other people that are being realistic and logical about the pickup scene, I am so damn tired of the community being the voice of hundreds of people that can't figure out the concepts of attraction. Also I have stumbled across an absolute gold mine, literally this technique will change your world but I think why would I tell people about this, it works for me, if I post it it will become another overused line or technique which is being attempted by people that aren't me (and s it is weird when they go frm pretending to be someone to pretending to be someone else). argh this has become a straight rant but seriously people need to take concepts and make lines their own.

As for my technique I have been working on give me 6 months and if I have perfected it I may share with the guys I like (twatty but logical)

If we are being accurate, its a penis.....
(couldnt resist that)

I see what your saying, but do you not think (similar to MM, where most came from) they are a good starting block for people? They might not be relavent later on, but are they to start with.... Hmmmm.

Madals
p.s. adding to the rant. ALL THOSE &^£&ERS WHO ARE LETTING OFF FIREWORKS ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT! (i am in a bad mood, i want to sleep, but for some reason halloween is an excuse me make loud bangs every min in the early hours of the morning :evil: )
