so im thinking of applying to MIT, and on the slim chance that I get in I just want to check with anyone who goes their as to...lol well you know...great i feel horrible and shallow now...How are the girls?

I mean don't get me wrong this is more than just pure shallowness, although there is some of that going on too. I know in any large group there must be at least one hot girl. But I'm talking about personality too. A girl who goes their told me the real reason the suicide rates are high is because some insecure people get into their first ever relationship, break up, and can't take it. She also told me when she leaves MIT everyone looks so pretty...and we all know how unpretty girls are insecure and clingy. I mean these kinds of people can be great as friends but I'm kinda selective when it comes to girls, personality wise as well as physically. Being introverted/nerdy is ok with me, but being overly insecure/clingy just isn't, ever. And I'm sure some of the more attractive or socially adept girls will become conceited if surrounded by unnatractive unadept people, which also isn't ok with me

I'm just worried whether its a healthy environment to be in. I understand their might be a higher ratio of insecure or unattractive people, and thats ok. What I want to know is are their enough well adjusted/normal/secure people that I could easily find a girl to meet my standards.

Wow I feel very bad for even thinking like this, especially when I myself am the stereotypical silent immigrant with the funny accent, which I guess is in some ways like being a nerd. If i'm being an unreasonable and hypocritical douche feel free to call me out on it...

Having gone/going to a prestigious institution, don't worry about this sort of stuff. If the student body doesn't get your attention, there's still a town/city there.

This is the best question a potential student can ask. What the hell . . . they tell you everything about their academic and athletic culture but seldom do they bring up the important topics. This topic is so important because it pertains to our daily routines.

No matter how young or old we are, we "walk, sleep, eat, shit, and fuck." That's basically all we ever do. Now the important choice we have in our lives is, "Who do we choose to do these things with us?" Go to a school with a bunch of crazies and all of our daily routines can be a real pain in the ass.

So to answer your question:

The last time I checked, the women of MIT seem to take pride in not taking care of themselves in the "physical sense". I think there are 2 reasons for this. 1. Between the problem sets and those all those multi day/night labs, they really don't have the time. 2. Even if they do have the time, their social setting rewards "academic stars" and wearing baggy sweat shirts and wearing the hair tight and messy means they are either going to the lab or coming home from the lab.

Everybody OUTSIDE = Harvard to the West and BU to the East. Further West, you have Tufts. Further East bunch of little colleges with a ton of cute chicks. . . So yeah, MIT is surrounded by cute girls with plenty of time and money for their makeup, hair, clothes, gym . . . and I'd be lying if I told you that this doesn't affect the MIT girls in the way you suspect.

Still . . . I think when you meet individuals, you'll discover more interesting people at MIT than any other. Also, if you're searching for hb10's or whatever, remember, you're still in a city. There are college bars everywhere and MIT hosts plenty of the corny functions with Wellesley and several others. The biggest problem with MIT is really, you won't have much time for life outside of academics . . . no joke.

They've got some pretty good social dances there if you know ballroom. They also have lessons, which is another good way to go out and meet girls in the area.

Even if it was an all-boys school, you should still go there because of the amazing minds that it has produced. Don't think with your dick when it's your future at stake for goodness sake.

I study in BU and I've hit a couple of MIT frats, and the truth is the hot girls which go to those do not go to MIT. But the college is amazing, and being in Boston you will have the chance to meet girls from BU (which some are just models, don't know how else to put it) and you would be able to meet them at your own frat parties. Boston is the place to be during college.

I went to Berklee College of Music in Boston which is probably the only school in Boston worse than MIT for girls. That being said MIT frat parties are indeed packed with goods. Also BU and Northeastern girls are fantastic and are everywhere. BU girls being a bit hotter but Northeastern girls party more and are generally more accessible. Unfortunately, I wasted about 90% of my college time there as I didn't stumble upon this stuff until late in my senior year and spent the first 3 1/2 years very dedicated to music. I miss it a lot as college parties are a million times better to meet girls than bars and clubs. One could argue there isn't a single place in this country that is packed with more hot 19-13 y/o hotties than Boston.

On an unrelated topic, MIT has by far the highest suicide rate of any school in this county. If you do get in don't let whatever it is that has those kids leaping off the dorm roofs get you down.

I go to MIT. If you transfer, you'll get the best education and be around the most fascinating people on earth. But don't look for girls at the school. Even if you do find an attractive girl, many of them are a bit unstable. If you end up transferring, check out the fraternity scene, which is packed with hot BU, Wellesley, and Northeastern girls. Additionally, you'll always have the clubs to keep you entertained, and plenty of day game if you're adventurous enough.

I don't see the big deal about suicide rates. Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Belarus, and Russia pretty much have the highest suicide rates on earth. That is a who's who of amazing female beauty and desperation. The problem is that the American university scene is horrible. But hey, if you tell people something enough times they will believe it (i.e. work hard and you can make it!).

As far as formalized education goes...It is a scam. American universities sit on billions of dollars. They constitute a lobby that isn't that far behind the Jewish lobby in America. Hence, the lemmings in America buy into the idea of spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on a piece of paper that at best will get them working 12 hour days in some boring suburban hell. If they are lucky maybe they get to live in Queens and commute two hours a day to Midtown Manhattan.

Sounds about right but as pessimistic I am about formal education, your example above is about par for a recent graduate with some academic prowess. And what's so bad about living in Queens and commuting Midtown? This is a great gig for a young man.

As over rated formal education seems to be, increasing your odds and widening your network isn't such a bad thing . . .

Wait a sec, I just read, "The American University scene is horrible." I completely disagree. It could be the best damn 7 years of anybody's life . . .

I have two friends that attend MIT, I don't really know the situation there though because I don't really talk to them.

But I do remember a couple months ago me and another friend snuck into MIT for the hell of it (good times :P), and found a whole bulletin board on Women's studies etc, not that makes a big difference. But even if you don't get in Boston in huge for game. And on the side note, if you do pass by MIT check it out sometime, they offer a lot of activities and workshops for which you don't have to be a student, it would be a great oppurtunity get to know some students and get in on the frat scene, and make friends which would in the future possibly allow you to get into the uni anyway. Uni and girls, great combination but both very time consuming ;)
