I was in Boston for the weekend as part of my buddies celebration and had a few beers (I usually don't drink when I go out). Because of this, I made all sorts of "mistakes" in my sets. First, I complimented really early in the interaction. Then I didn't' use an FTC or act alpha. I was just nice and confident. In another set, I asked for the woman's name. You know what, it didn't seem to hurt me at all. In fact, it might have helped me. The moral of the story is not to do shots before you leave your apartment, but try not to be constrained by some of these arbitrary dogmas about pick up. Style said it best about the game: "There are no rules, only guidelines". I tend to see a lot of newbies in the forum being told to "always" do this and to "never" do that. I for one plan on breaking the rules more often. |
