What are some things a PUA should keep in mind before sarging,, or just throughout his every day life?? Stay healthy. 1. Eating unhealthy or lack of sleep can cause major sleepiness and drowsiness. Do you want to feel like shit when you're out in a social place? 2. Avoid stress. Feel good about everything, look for the good side of the story, and stick with it. Or you're just torturing yourself by putting yourself in a bad state of thought. 3. Pressure is a man's worst enemy. There are so many rules and codes in the social world and the smallest mistake can make a difference in one's perspective of you. Don't get frustrated by pressure but turn it around on others. Personally, all these things require effort and will. But Pressure is scariest of all three things. It's always around even when we don't want it. This is why I myself get a few stressful headaches after a night of gaming from using my noggin' too much trying to figure everything out during my sarges. I'm still not a full on natural as many of you are also not. So it is important that our actions are wise and that we think before we do. But think fast, or the world will think you're being 'fake'. I'm writing about this because I have a huge headache today due to the massive party I went to last night. So from my own mouth, please stay healthy. - Grape |

Good advice. My 2 cents on the pressure side of things that may help. Desensitisation + internalisation. I think they're fairly self-explanatory, but here: A lot of the etiquette/codes/whatever don't change - you do not need to be constantly aware of this and over time will begin to do without thinking. Desensitisation is much the same - you will worry less about the outcome and about what you're doing wrong the more you do it. |

What usually changes my state instantly and i'm not saying from AWFUL to AMAZING....im just saying "better". Think of a funny/amusing idea...person...situation that occurred to you...i usually laugh and can't help but have a big smile on my face. Usually if there's even someone remotely around i'll just want to go up and talk to them. Even so...the more you smile throughout the better. |

Yep, that does it. I'm a little bit crazy. I like the challenge of going out and doing either mundane things or even complex things like picking up while fatigued. I live an incredibly busy life, and knowing that I can pick up on 2-4 hours of sleep a night is reassuring when I go out with a full night's rest. I'm not saying I do this on purpose (usually), it's usually because of the job (thanks Uncle Sam!). About stress...there are good stressors and there are bad stressors. I don't want to get too far into this, but a little stress can be good for someone. Have you ever been under the gun to accomplish a task? You probably moved a little faster when you acted. Example of a good stressor: If I'm running a 5k race, and there's no obvious competition, then I'm going to run slower than when I've got someone on my heels or (god forbid) they're right in front of me. Example of a bad stressor: Having financial troubles. Who the fuck wants to pay their bills? Not me, but when I don't have the choice and can't pay the bills, that usually affects my daily life in a negative way. |

On any given day I've got pressures from engineering courses, tests, the stock market, blown sets, etc weighing down on me. When I feel myself getting into that bad headspace I say to myself, "Alright, in three seconds this will be gone, 3..2..1..let go." If I'm in a really bad mindset I simply won't run Game as hard. I've found that you'll always telegraph that stress and discomfort, you'll blow the set and you'll make your mindset worse. |

sometimes when you are tired the last think you want to do is game. i have noticed that being tired gives you more "i don't care" energy which might ultimately be helpful and might give some added DHV. |
