PUA Forum :: How many sets do you open per average evening?

At the moment I'll do around 3-4 a night, but I am increasing all the time, and the more I get over my AA the more it will increase.

For example. If i might try to go open up a set one of my friends might just follow behind me into the set making it look like to the set that i have him on a leash behind me.. which cant be good for opening and then building comfort especially if he is just sitting there watching me do work. Did I mention this friend in particular is severe AFC.
Some of my other friends only go after weak less good looking women because they are man whores specifically for ugly women and basically are scared of good looking women. I want to approach the 8's 9's and 10's. Not the 3's 4's 5's

It's sounds like yourwingman has AA to the point where he needs YOU to open sets for him. If you want to get around this, I'd encourage you're mate to go solo for a night or so, and make him open sets and thread them by himself.

It'll increase his motivation and he will feel no need to hang around waiting for you to make a move, the problem will just cease.

I still don't consider myself a PUA but your poll is too low for the number of sets I open. Some of the other members have seen me, I approach EVERYONE indiscriminately all the way from HB1's to HB10's. There's a line from Mystery that I take to heart, "If you are going to wreck a room, WRECK A FUCKING ROOM!" If you are going to do his challenge it should be 12 sets a night, 3 an hour for 4 hours 4 times per week.

mystery says go out 4 nights a week for 4 hours, open 3 sets an hour thats 3 20 minute sets, and 12 sets a night. Thats 48 a week, 192 a month and 2304 a year. Personally if i enter a set and i like the girl ill prob stay with her for a while before opening again!

I stayed in my comfort zone and so I was moving at a walk. Then I realised that the only way to get where I wanted, was to just give everything I had and not worry about discomfort, because it only lasted from 3 seconds before I approached, until 3 seconds after. Soon as I did this and just started approaching like crazy and only leaving when I couldn't stay any longer, or when I knew I wasn't going to be going anywhere with it, then my progress became a sprint. If you stay in your comfort zone, expect this transformation to take a long, long, long, long, long time, if it ever happens at all. Pushing those barriers is how you grow, so get out of your comfort zone.

Yeah. Honestly Im opening 1 usually 2 if Im lucky. Still very AFC, i know. But this thread is helping to re-inspire me to be ballsy and start practicing. I'm not sure if my problem is that I'm scared to open so much as the fact that none of my friends know what I'm doing none of them are trying to be a PUA like me. For example. I guess I really just need to find a way to either keep my friends at bay until I have reached a hook point or built comfort after opening a set. OR some how get them involved. The problem is they really would not understand the whole PUA mentality nor would they understand the community. They haven't opened their minds up to this sort of thing. the obvious answer is to bring them in on what I'm doing or inform them. But considering I am very AFC myself they really wont take me serious Can anyone shed light on this issue

Theres another guy whos on my level that I also go out with. However, my AFC friend is the WORST WINGMAN EVERR. Words can't even describe it, but for example he actively tried to cockblock one time on this HB8. He told her I didn't know how to read palms and that I lied (what a dick). He always seems to go after the girls I open or have opened already and its pissing me off... Its VERY frustrating bc I want to punch him in the face, but hes still a friend. So not only does my friend tag along, but he also tries to take my girls...not sure if it can get any worse! Anyways, next time you go out with your friend, i'm not gonna lie its difficult to keep them away but you gotta tell your friend straight up what to do. Say something like , "Yo man, I gotta go solo tonight and work on some of my game. Try not to interfere and I may bring you back a doggy bag wink" -->something like that. It HAS to be direct, but you can add a little humor to make it easier to say. Worst part is that I always do better without him and I'm gonna have to have the same little talk when he gets back lol...Good luck man

Risen, I'm glad you brought this up. I am constantly dealing with AFC friends cock blocking me and killing my sets. In fact, last weekend I was sitting with two HB 8.5's and my friend came in just to make small talk with them while I was running solid game. The worst part is my buddy has a gf and did this purely for an ego stroke. Needless to say,I lost the set, ejected from the set and venue changed by myself. As a result of last weekend, I have realized that you have to cut the strings with dead weight. This guy has been a good friend for many years and will continue to be for many more, but as for gaming, I have vowed to only roll out with my friends who "get it." Non-Community guys generally come from a lower place of self percieved value. So it is not uncommon to see them "value leeching" off you. After all, they are called AFCs for a reason.

However attempting things like this is difficult because I am not known for getting ass alot yet. Therefore anything I try to say to friends about girls gets intantly shot down because i dont have the credentials (YET!!!). I willg et the " dude you never get ass " or " I know what I'm doing dude ". dont get me wrong i love my friends to death. but transforming myself from AFC to PUA is going to be alot more work than just learning to open sets.. which is what i love about it so much. I'll even have to convince my buddys that Im the alpha male
