We've all heard the line "I have a boyfriend" and are well equipped to deal with it. However, the last night I was out I encountered something I hadn't come across before. Kiss gambits aren't usually my thing so I decided to try mystery's favourite - and then it happened. "I just broke up with my boyfriend today." Hold up a minute... that was a far cry from the yes/no/maybe answer I was expecting. Dalziel is shocked! After some thought I have a pretty good idea how I should have dealt with her, but at the time I was taken aback, having never been told this before. I didn't really wanna put up a fight at this point as there were plenty more targets nearby and my situation was made evermore complicated by the following: 1. Her friend was there. This is someone she wants to look innocent in front of... her friend will be protective of her after the breakup and will be making sure she doesn't do anything stupid. Inevitably she will make her feel guilty about any form of male contact. Bitch points: +20 2. Her friend was unattractive. This throws jealousy into the equation, so aswell as holding the moral highground and looking out for her friend, she's sick and tired of seeing her success with men and on this particular night she will not stand for it. Bitch points: +50!! I can't be the only person to have encountered this so I'd like to hear your ideas or experiences... if the girl was alone how did you deal with her, and what was the outcome? I don't see that as a huge challenge but let's throw the aesthetically-challenged friend into the mix; what are your thoughts on dealing wih her? |

HB-"I just broke up with my boyfriend today." PUA: Ok, this isn't the point in the conversation that turns into a episode of Dr. Phil is it? (laughing) If so, I need to start my meter for billing purposes. HB- NOooooo *gives girl high five* PUA: Cool then! This calls for a celebration! Let's go take a few shots! (motion for friend to join and maintain some eye contact with friend to include her in on the conversation) |

I'm with you Dalziel, if I was given this I would just leave.. theres no way you're going to get anywhere with this girl. With her own emotions of not wanting to move on, being attached to the BF not wanting to be a slut, not wanting to look dirty in front of the friend, not wanting to commit so soon.. plus everything the friend is thinking, you have no chance.. let the interaction die. |
