(Disclaimer, the core of this post is derived from Gunwitch's Seduction MMA course, google it)

A lot of guys right now in the pickup community believe that looks matter. The problem is, they get that concept completely wrong and you end up with these polarizing discussions where one side says "looks don't matter at all" and the other says "if you don't look like Ryan Gosling you'll never get laid." It's easy to take an idea to an extreme rather than understand the complexities of it. But here's the deal:

You may have one or two occasions in your life where a girl finds you so hot she practically jumps you right away. However, most girls aren't even paying attention to you until you try to talk to them. It hasn't been processed in their minds.

So you are not the center of the universe. Why then, do girls immediately reject you when you approach them? If this is not a problem, you can skip this post. If it is, you're probably thinking about it wrong and should read.

Your looks matter, but not in a sexual component. Women's brains have been studied and compared to men at length, and the reality is women are not sexually aroused by appearance, bodies and body parts to the same degree us men are. For them, it is mostly emotion and memory as triggered by OTHER senses. However, your looks matter in a social aspect of a pickup. By that, I mean that a girl will look at you, scan you to some extent, and if she sees something that would be embarrassing if you two were seen together by her friends or family, you are OUTTA THERE! Thus, your goal in regards to pickup should be to avoid having these bad knee-jerk reactions (Gunwitch term), rather than trying to look like a model or pro athlete.

Here are some examples: If you have bad breath, that smells like rotting eggs, girls will avoid you, react negatively, and not give you the time of day no matter how good your game is. It gives a bad social knee-jerk reaction. Body odor will do this, having food stuck in your teeth too, as will wearing clothes with mustard stains. It doesn't even have to be this extreme. For me, for instance, I recently found out by talking to a friend I have two things that at least to her give off a bad reaction. First, I wear glasses that make my face look worse, and second I had a half-assed beard going because I cannot grow thick facial hair. Two very minor, easily adjust things lead to me looking better. In fact, I'm testing these knee-jerk reactions on my youtube channel, and posts will follow about this.

A great one that leads to tons of stupid debates is weight loss. You dont' need six pack abs to get laid. I am proof of this. But if you are overweight, you will get rejected more. Even if you just have a poor body fat percentage, some of that fat will be in your face, making it look worse. So if you want to exercise, worry less about building aesthetics and more about just getting in decent shape. Decent looks + game = pussy.

So guys...just stop worrying about it so much. You want to look good enough to get laid? Follow these rules:

1. Brush your teeth twice a day
2. Floss daily
3. Use mouthwash daily
4. Shower daily
5. Use deodorant as needed
6. Wear clothes that fit you without stains or holes
7. Figure out a haircut/facial hair that works for you
8. Hit the weights a couple times a week
9. A can of pringles is not breakfast - eat decent
10. Make sure you don't have any ear/nose hair sticking out

Tada. Now you're ready. Read some really basic game principles, and go hit the field practicing!

The beard one surprises me. How bad is your beard? i don't have thick facial hair either but I keep a 3 day growth most of the time. It's not thick but it covers my face and I think it looks good.

I've never heard or even thought about a facial hair being so bad a girl wouldn't date you, unless it's some really dirty neck beard or a hitler.

Some guys look horrible in facial hair... like me -_-

It grows in weird, uneven, makes me look sloppy and makes my face look fatter.

I usually sport a 5 o clock shadow -- although an incompatible minority of women who don't appreciate the awesomeness of my beard usually don't dig it. Just gotta find what works for you, as OP stated.

This is a great post DJ_Z. Many men worry about a lot of things that are much farther out of their control as simple things like having good hygiene, which go a long way. Even normal guys get laid, not just PUAs ! :)
Many guys look great in facial hair. Sadly, I am not one of them.
