Recently Kickstarter banned all seduction material because one of their funded campaigns was interpreted as encouraging rape: http://www.kickstarter.com/blog/we-were-wrong (cached http://web.archive.org/web/201306200808 ... e-with-wom) http://www.reddit.com/r/seduction/comme ... ation_sex/ https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=5918508 What do you think? Did he go too far with his advice? Genuinely asking. I'm a learning AFC, I have no idea who is right but the way they talk about women on HN is a way that definitely doesn't work. I read 60yoc which I enjoyed and the material in question is similar to that. |

Read the post in question and have only one word: Ridiculous. I don“t see how any of this advocates rape, full stop. |

The whole thing is an over-blown witch hunt. Unfortunately, PUA doesn't play well in the mainstream media. The people demonizing the community are people who haven't had any experience with the non-commercial side (i.e. the forums). The ridiculous advertising from the commercial side (like the banner ads on this site) really doesn't help the situation. However, Spring, I encourage you to read the forums and judge for yourself. Does this place look like a den of rapists to you? EDIT: Here's a painfully inaccurate article about the pick-up community to drive my point home: http://boingboing.net/2013/06/22/kickst ... -slip.html Quote: PUAs are nearly exclusively men focused on soliciting women for the purposes of sex without resorting to payment. The PUA world applies algorithms, testing and feedback, and gamification to human interaction, turning women into not just sexual objects but essentially treating that cisgendered biological configuration as a Turing-complete machine in which specifying the right sequence of inputs results in access to specific ports and protocols.
It just gets worse from there. In this case, the vagina is typically the desired port, with other orifices of interest as well..." -Wolf |

I read through some of the article then realized it was a biased article by a man who grudgingly gave up on enjoying a sexual lifestyle. This gentlemen said that sexual escalation in general is a form of sexual assault.... Honestly I couldn't imagine being a prisoner of this man's mind... it would be horrible. He has this concept that a girl says no now she means it forever... fuck sells 101 is it takes and average of 7 nos to get to a yes. Guys like him fuck 1-2 girls in their entire life and hate on guys who fuck more... his personal beliefs are the real issue here.... not pick up... yeah there are some fucked up guys in the community but too many guys don't understand the context of the interaction then create an assumption and in doing so paint an entirely different picture You'll rarely find a girl say "let me pull your cock out", but you'll find a lot of them happy you did it for them.... he is an idiot from a courtship perspective and honestly I'd grant him no weight in his argument.... I mean look at how he sounds... we don't believe in objectifying women though it gets thrown around here... that doesn't mean the most successful of us all believe in that concept. In fact if you want to get good with women(not get laid two different things guys) at all you stop objectifying them completely.... You make sure the situation is right is all. Peace and Love, Vic |

the problem was mostly this guy was/is a quite poor writer. Using fuck this fuck that every other word is unprofessional as it is even for pick up material and when you combine that talk and tone w/the subject matter it looks much worse than it is. |

http://boingboing.net/2013/06/22/kickst ... -slip.html ^This guy is a white knight chump. His opinions are worthless. As for the scandal/perception of PUA, there are two reasons its not accepted by the mainstream, imo. First, a lot of PUAs, and especially the beginners are, lets admit it, creeps. I've met a few in person, and they creeped ME out. I'd hate to be an "HB they're running kino on". Obviously, PUMs and successful PUAs are not weird, and for the most part fairly normal guys who just fine tuned their game to score lots of women and enjoy it. The second reason PUAs are hated are exhibited by the chump writer. It's jealousy. Beta male white knights without a pair are jealous and bitter that they don't have the balls to play the pickup game, and so they spit the hatred at those who do, and do well for themselves. There's no reason to feel slighted by chumps, or let virgin weirdos represent what you do. Game on and ignore those who disapprove. |
