I think that as men we can get caught up in goal setting and there is a danger for less experienced guys to get too caught up in this stuff and forget the most important thing: taking enjoyment from life on a moment by moment basis. It's a delicate balance. I wrote this short little post a couple of months ago, and explored this in a little more depth by quoting an excerpt from ray Bradbury's excellent and moving "The Illustrated Man". I feel like TRUE inner confidence comes from being content with what you have. No matter how much or how little... You are proud. But you should always be seeking more, looking to grow and develop.

I always look with disgust at people who are unhappy. On top of the unhappyness stands stupidness. A laugh a day keeps trouble away. |
