Love is a hard concept to define. people–both men and women– want to be loved and accepted. A person, like you and I, want to be listened to, empathized with, appreciated, and affirmed of such love. The problem is will you make that love an action or a feeling. The problem with love is that there has to be a delicate balance when touching on the subject. Love as an action means we give but we choose to give. We provide love because we want to and it is the value that we provide to another person. On the contrary, love as a feeling results in a broken heart. We feel love but we no longer provide it but become a victim of it. This is where things go wrong. Instead of doing the loving you expect ot be loved. No longer are you having the freedom to choose but now you are being acted upon. Eventually you will call yourself a victim, a product of those out of control feelings. Being responsible for love is where you want to be on the balance beam. Once you give up that responsibility and let feelings take over, you have given your responsibility to your feelings. These feelings are now then going to dictate your actions. No longer are you the manager of your own love. |
