I won't post much, especially since this isn't a new concept, but I felt like it was worth posting here given recent discussions. There is no one best way to do this. There are personality traits, systems, methods, styles, whatever you choose to call them, that work for everyone differently. This shouldn't surprise anyone. The people who write books and make videos about picking up women are all different, and they developed ways to succeed that suited them best. Let's take the obvious example: Mystery method. That dude is actually a magician, he lives in Hollywood, filled with people who are extremely famous and extremely eccentric. When you are walking into a club filled with models, maybe peacocking can help. I don't know, because that's not a scene I am a part of. Direct, indirect, I can't tell you what works best, because I'm not you. The best I can recommend is to try different things, see what helps and what doesn't. In fact, when you start to get good, you don't see yourself using a style anymore. I'm a big fan of Bruce Lee, and anyone who researches his life and martial arts teachings knows that he was against styles. He found fighting styles to accomplish nothing, instead they restricted you. Your abilities were limited to the movements and techniques found within one style. The fighting he taught was made to be simple as possible so that all sorts of people could learn it, but he incorporated different aspects of styles into it. That was a little epiphany I had once. You should adapt game to you, not the other way around. And no, this isn't something I say to avoid stepping out of a comfort zone. By all means, try new things, even if they don't make sense at first. But if you try advice someone gave here twenty times, and it failed all 20 times, don't just assume you are doing it wrong. Sometimes things just aren't congruent with us. Take what helps from different teachings and mix it all up to form your own style that reflects who you are. That's the point of this forum, to combine ideas so that we can all create our own method. It's not a competition, where someone says "this is how you do it, everything else is pointless and wrong." Part rant, part advice, take it as you will. |

Wouldn't be a bad idea to consider throwing up a sticky pointing this out to the 'newbies' that bandana+flight goggle up after reading MM. A how-to study game, if you will. |
