Post subject:  The Game...

Today I read something that sent a cold chill down my spine. I have been hearing a thousand rumors about someone making Style's "The Game" into a movie, but they were just rumors. Today I read somewhere that Columbia Pictures is in fact making the movie. Now this may be old news to some, but I'm really quite angry about this and also worried.

First of all, a lot of the material that is mentioned in the game is quite vague, however, I use quite a lot of that material. The Cube, October man, Style's EV, the threesome massage...all of them are in the game, all of which I use. My concern is that I'll be busted by all the chicks that I'm gaming and marked just as a social robot. My worry is that this is no longer a secret community, its already heading down a commercial path with Mystery's VH1 show, and now a movie about "The Game" can push this further down the spiral.

What does everyone else think about this?

eeek. if people can see it instead of reading it... its just going to be mass produced. all the youtube newbies will be like "oh i guess that works" and just use it. i have my own stuff but i'm afraid that some girls and guys that have seen me will be able to call me out now and i dont think my game is to the level i want it to be at where i can confidently walk around and say "i am a pua". i'm afraid people will be like "oh you are a pua? go pick up this girl for me! i want to see how you do this" and stuff like that. i'm not that solid yet nor do i have the appearance to hold such a frame as mystery or style.

lets just hope the movie crashes and dies slowly

Fuck thats selfish of Style and Mystery. They sellout without giving a shit in the world how it will affect everyone else that is trying to improve their lives. Thats what I think.

I don't see this as Style and Mystery being selfish after all the techniques in the game were developed by Style and Mystery. It is their right to use it as they see fit. We will just need to create our own routines or adapt the old ones so they will still work. I don't see there being anything to really worry about here unless you truely are a socal robot.

How are they selfish when they are just introducing PUA to more people? I know I will definitely be effected by this in some way (everyone will be mainly by increased competition) but I guess I will just have to try harder.

Well the cube isn't something that was invented to pick up women. It's a cold reading routine used by psychiatrists to get people to talk about things they are unable to say when asked. Works more or less the same as having top buisnessmen draw with crayons to expres how they feel in the management group.

And yes you shouldn't use routines, unless they are your own routines.

Haha, come on -- all this does is force you to be a little creative instead of leeching off of Style and Mystery's routines. The community won't get much bigger than it already is and I seriously doubt it'll change much at all.

AFCs will always be skeptical, and the AA alone will turn most people away.

I love how people claim that, "Everyone should be taught Pickup in school!" and "The world would be a better place if everyone learn to be a PUA!" Yet when confronted with it becoming available to the masses they cowar in fear. Don't worry, they won't be able to disclose all your favorite routines within a 2 hour window. They might be able to show some of them sure, but then they were already made available in the best selling book that has sold millions of copies worldwide, or the VH1 reality show, or to anyone that has the internet or a bookstore and is interested. I'm betting that the majority of the movie is going to be consisting of the story about Style going from a complete AFC, to a Guru and being one of the world's best PUAs. Hell, if a seminar hosted by Style and several other big name PUAs can't disclose all of their routines, then how could a movie that also has a huge story to cover do more?

Interesting. I didn't know that happened.

Also, 3 hands, I haven't said this yet, but I love your avatar.

I agree with Rye's statement on this. It is so true.

I am not worried about the film, no one should be. I doubt it will be very successful and in less then a few months it will have vanished from peoples minds.

One thing I am worried about is that you’ll get a group of people that watch the film and jump into the field with both feet. Going out dressed like a drag act and bothering women and putting them on defense with no realization that copying the film won’t work because they don’t have a grounded enough idea of what they’re doing. But in their mind they’re just like Mystery and they’re unstoppable.

It will happen, I’ve read about people that watch the Matrix and ended up killing themselves because they thought they could bend reality and jump out their window and stuff.

As a side note, I can only think of one guy that I saw in a bar that even remotely looked like a student of PUA, and when I take into account all the places I’ve been and people I’ve seen since finding out about this stuff, that is a amazingly small number.

Nothing to worry about. There is ONE line we all use and I can't think of another way to phrase it. But you HAVE to use this line in every set. It's mandatory.

"How do you all know each other?"

Mandatory line. But I'd bet a million dollars this won't be labeled as a "pick-up" line in the movie.

If they focus on this line and the masses identify it as a "pick-up line", we're all dead.

Obtober Man is considered to be "forbidden" for a reason, man. If you use that on just any girl, I think you deserve to have your cover blown, in my personal opinion.

The game is not just a game where you play some cards from a deck; it's survival of the fittest. To keep up, you have to make some of your own cards. The game is a learning process and the mPUAs were kind enough to give some examples as "canned material." If you want to master a discipline, you must adapt the concepts to your own routines by making them a reflection of real things from your own life. Only then will you be able to be truly congruent as a PUA.

Just get more creative :) There are a hundred ways to ask about the relationships in a set. Sure "How do you all know each other?" is the easily the most convenient way of doing this, but it can be substituted for just as easily.
