I am a beginner poker player , I started last month.

I just played some poker on facebook and the thing is I lost most of my "money".

There is always some guy with the biggest "stack" going aggressive before the turn and river , basically forcing you to take a leap of faith in order to gain some profit.

In poker there are stakes , you have your pot , you can win , you can lose , yet what would poker be without STAKES.

The greatest NO LIMIT TEXAS HOLDEM players starting with Stu Ungar up until Tom Dwan and Phil Ivey have something in common , in fact all great poker players have something in common.

THEY HAVE AN ULTRA-AGGRESSIVE STYLE OF PLAY.

One case in particular is this 20 year old kid named Isildur1 which got rich by playing ultra-aggressive poker. This guy bets on every flop throwing 1000's of dolars on each hand.

This guy is a millionaire by going over the top even if he got more to lose than to gain.

Let's make an analogy between poker and women.

Let's say each time you go to a club and get rejected by a woman you lose 1000 dolars and if you fuck her that night you gain 2000 dolars , whould you do it ?

This may be a bad analogy , but with women you have 0 (NOTHING) to lose.

I could not of said it any better. Although I can add about poker as I am an avid player... I love it just as much as I love women. One skill that transcends both poker and women is ones ability to figure out what your opponent has in their hand. Being able to read their tells/body language and know when you have the winning hand or when its time to fold.

See I just find it very difficult to do the super aggressive without first building comfort. I am ultra aggressive sexually but only once I've set comfort. I will sometimes bring out the beast on first approach but he rarely comes out till the play is set up. But to each their own. If it works for ya dude, then all the power to ya.

I feel like its worth pointing out with your allegory that many people try the aggressive style and go broke, more than the ones who become rich. In fact, in poker, its not just about being all out aggressive. Eventually people will acknowledge it and call you bluffing. Or you just rely on luck, which I think isn't waht we want. You also have to PICK YOUR SPOTS.

Fact is, if you tell a guy with no experience to act that way, they will fail. These sorts of things only work with a strong frame, and odds are if a guy is on this forum its because he needs help in regards like that. So enough with the bs vague "have balls" advice, start outlining for guys how they can start to develop that confidence.

We used to play with a guy who was ultra aggressive poker player. he went on X20 than all other pre-flop bets and also during the card show downs...
he was earning Hugh, and then almost every time losing it all eventually.
because if you go aggressive too much you go blind for the fact some smart motherfucker (or an inelegant sophisticated cool ass girl) can pull your pants down.
I'm not saying going aggressive cant work, but sometimes it works double the speed being subtle under the radar..

This has to be stickied. Oh and I've become much more aggressive from reading your posts, Stelar. I went up to an HB10 on my uni campus and said, "Hey you look interesting so I wanted to meet you." When I look back at the times that I got laid when I still had no "game," this was how I did it-- almost exactly (with some variations) on how Stelar does it. All during the day. I got lots of problems though after sex: some of those you banged want to talk to you on the phone 24 hours a day, call you 37 times at dawn, send you more than a dozen text messages every 3 minutes, won't leave your place, scandalize you in public, and so on and so forth. I do day game now mostly to filter out the nutcases. But I'll be testing Stelar's method during night game. I think I can prevent all of the problems I had before by banging the chick at a hotel without getting her phone number or giving mine. I think I've just closed a client to market his products all over the country and Stelar's method has become more feasible for me. I've been having thoughts lately though that maybe Stelar is Julian Assange of Wikileaks; bold and daring, looks great in a suit, and ultra great with beautiful and sexy women.

I always go for target selection first. However failure gives you experience and also you may never know when you'll be able to strike big time. 250 women so far for me , I remember only a few them and it's not the SEX , it's the way they reacted to everything I did and the situation under which I was able to pull. Do you think I never get rejected ? I get rejected multiple times when I go for something that doesn't feel right. But sometimes even I am amazed of myself and the things I get away with.
