ok so basically i was at a party on saturday and was talken to this hb i then added her on facebook and got her number and we started texting. About 2 texts in i got straight to the point. me:what cinema should i go see XXXX in cause XXXX is a rubbish cinema HB:XXXX or XXXX are good cinemas:) me:hmmm... you could come aong if you promise to behave HB: sorry but i cant make that promise me: ha looks like you cant come along then HB: :O aww man. lol whats up? a few texts after that i didnt reply cause i wanted to have the power. I think i fucked it up when i said looks like you cant come along then because i thought it was a shit test when she said she cudnt make that promise so i responded by not breaking my rule and showing i didnt need her to come with me. Should i text her again and if so how long should i wait and how should i get round to asking her on a date again? |

You didn't fuck it up- I think after the "lol whats up" though, you should've called her and just straight forward made the date. Playfulness and control are awesome, but you have to be able to move around a bit as well and (I think) this was the time for you to 'drop the act' and just showed that interest, set up that date. Give it a shot now. -ZeroValley |

"me: ha looks like you cant come along then HB: :O aww man. lol whats up? " Now, I'm not some phone game guru, but a small analyses is you've been role-playing a bit, you do your line and the first part of her response is again in role-play ":O aww man." but with the "lol whats up?" she breaks out of it (I usually want to be the one to break the role-play) and in a relatively direct way asks you "What are we going for here? Make your move." You then responding my calling her up and making that move is in no way needy or creepy, it's natural. [I typed a ~20 sentence analyses here- however when finished I realised it would lead to dreadful overthinking, what you need to do is just do it. You'll be good. Do a bit of chitchat at the start (30 seconds tops) then when you get her energy up a bit you propose a date you feel is appropriate.] No more texts! Call her and set it up. PS. While I've had all the usual problems of AA, rapport-building, etcetera, I have never once worried about coming across needy or creepy. Weird that so many people seem to have that problem. |
