Hey Baracuda, You did the right thing by starting a journal. Kasabi is definately right, making a journal AND ACTUALLY UPDATING IT EVERYTIME YOU GO OUT is a good improvement in my game. Feel free to read mine, and actually copy the stile of writing I use. I've been writing the journal for 6 months, and my game has improved more then I would have done without writing the journal. Based on the experience I have on a journal, this is what I can give you: 1: It motivates and pushes you to go out, writing your story, reading it back and feel good about yourself. When you have succes, you read it back and you think of yourself: good job! 2: By making a journal, you actually give feedback to yourself. You make your mistakes, re-read them and next time you won't make the same mistake. 3: When you have progressed, and posted many things in your journal, you look back at the first post and see how much you are different than before. That's good in times that it's not going well. You are your own inspiration. 4: If you read a post somebody has made and think, wow! I should definately remember that, post it in your journal. Once you read your journal, that link shows up, and you remember something you never wanted to forget. 5: Pick-up is a progress that takes years to become a master in it. It's just like any other skill, in order to become a master, it takes time. 6: The most, very most important thing I can provide you is, do not make the same mistake as I did with the goals. If you read it, you'll notice that I make goals such as: getting a k-close that night, or getting a number close. If you do that, you become outcome-dependant!. Just do whatever you have to do, and stick with your plan. Good luck! Don't give up! Keep your journal updated and you will progress, believe me! Tough times will come, but everybody has the ability to overcome tough times, you can as well! Wallie |
