Hey guys! Newbie here from Ireland and just back from sarging in the city with my also newbie wing. It was a good night putting some of my new skills to the test but didn’t close anything, unfortunately. For a long time (and still during the day) I would have had a lot of AA, but tonight I decided to put everything aside and just go for it! We went to this pub and I decided this was the night to start changing myself for the better.
I opened several sets which came as no problem to me, surprisingly. I then spotted two HB7s coming against us and stop them and said “Myself and my mate are having an argument over who’s cologne smells better, what do you think?” One of them (cute blonde) smiled and said “how should I know?” So I leaned in and said “well you use your nose, then tell me” so she smelled my neck then I said “now his turn” and pointed to my friend. She did the same and said mine was nicer, then I asked her friend (brunette) who seemed a lot shyer but she refused. We had a quick convo and then they left.
Later we got a drink and went to the smoking area and met the same girls again. The blonde gave me big smile, so I went over again. We started chatting, as you do, and I ended up talking to the brunette, sort of an obstacle approach, while my buddy talked to the blonde (do you do this if you have a wing?).
After a while she asked me how old I was so I reversed the question and asked her to guess. She wondered was I “late twenties”, “mid twenties” or “ baby twenties”? I said “well I’m not late twenties anyway”, she confessed she was “baby twenties” and kept pushing the question on me. So I said I was 22 (actually 21) and she one upped me and said she was 23 (so I took this as some sort of neg, what were the chances?). We continued chatting and joking and it seemed like I had recovered. She gave me a classic look up and down with that “whatever face” at one stage so I gave a similar look and we laughed. What does that actually mean, was she just checking me out?
Meanwhile the blonde was making eyes with me and the convo had turned into more a 4 way rather than two two ways. My friend was making some AFC talk to tide over a lull in the convo and it was then I noticed both girls suddenly had their arms folded and just didn’t seem interested anymore.
What happened? Was it the rejoining of the couples into the one group? or the AFC talk? Should we have swapped girls? or does age really matter that much? I do have trouble closing but I’m fascinated by the social dynamic and any insight no matter how critical would be very grateful. And before you ask, I know I said I was Irish, but no, I wan't drunk
Apologies for the long post but as I said, this is my first field report and any advice would be much appreciated.
