Just a few thoughts from last weekend. Saturday 7pm - was heading down Regent St when I saw an ebony beauty standing all alone in a clothes shop. Me: "Hi! Do you work here?" Her: "Yes" Me: "Well, in that case, I know this is highly unprofessional and possibly quite inappropriate, but I was just passing by and noticed you through the window, and I think you look absolutely amazing, so I had to come in and meet you" Her: "Oh, thanks! Well, I am working so..." Me: "I know, but that's what makes it so damn sexy! It's so wrong, it's right!" Her: (giggles) Me: "Anyway, I don't want to get you in trouble, so why don't we exchange contact info quickly and we can get to know each other better over a drink next week" Her: "OK!" Sunday 7pm - at dinner with 10 guys after a massive bootcamp. Across from our table was a bunch of about 10 other people, younger. One of us struck up a conversation with them at some point and it turned out they were ... Jehovah's witnesses! Later on a group of another 5 rudeboys joined their table (didn't look very religious at all!) I'd noticed my target before, prolly 18/19 black girl, very cute. Decided I'd give it a shot for the lulz on the way out. I had just been playing gay chicken with a friend and they had noticed and were laughing, so I came over Me: "Hey, it's not what it looks like, I swear. I'm totally straight, promise" Her: "ok..." Me: "Seriously though, I notice you over there and I think you're really cute, so I wanted to come over and say hi" Her: "Hi" Me: "Well, I'm on my way out but I'd like to exchange contact info so we can get to know each other better over a drink another time" Her: "I dunno..." (at this point, the rudeboys started coming over and sitting close by - I hear "you tryin to chat to my cousin, yeah blud?" but don't bother to look up) Me: "Hey, I know you're with your friends and everything, I understand, but don't just feel like you have to say no so you don't look too easy" (girls all giggled at this) Her: "No, sorry I really don't think that would be possible" Me: "Sure? Ok, well have a great evening, nice meeting you" (As I walked off one of the rudeboys was like "yeah, keep walking," I resisted the urge to say anything. Yes, I am leaving now, well done mate!) Sunday 11:45pm - Sasha and I were hanging out and we (sort of unintentionally) led a gay guy on to believe that we were a couple and wanted to have a 3-some with him. Not sure who was more responsible, but either way it was becoming more awkward and less funny as time wore on, so I jumped in a cab leaving him with some friends, the gay guy and the most cheeky tramp in the world on the street, SUCKER! In the cab ride, I notice a group of 4 pretty hot looking black girls. I get the cab to pull over so I can watch them pass. One looks in and sees me, so I smile and wave. Then I jump out of the cab, run after them and get in front and open the group, before finding out if the girl I like is single. She is! Me: OMG HIGH FIVE! It's FATE! Her: (smiling and giggling) Me: Hi, I'm ____ Her: I'm ____ Me: Well listen, I'm obviously in a bit of a rush but I think you're really cute and I'd love to get to know you better over a drink later this week. Her: "Hmmm... more like dinner" Me: "OK look, we can hash out the details LATER, I've got a cab waiting, jesus!" Her: (laughing) Me: "So let's exchange contact info" Her: How about you gimme your number" Me: "Sure. It's _______" (kissed her and jumped in the cab) NOW - the blowout was fun because I subjected myself to a lot of social pressure and stood my ground, tried to battle through her objections, and then saw she wasn't interested and left, feeling like a man for at least TRYING despite the possible awkwardness of the situation (and the possibility of being knifed!) The two other interactions, I honestly didn't hold much hope for. One I just gave MY number to, and both were very short and I didn't have a real chance to build any rapport or get to know them at all. HOWEVER, the cab girl texted me the next day, and the shop girl texted me back when I got in touch with her saying "I like your swagger" I'm seeing her tonight, and the cab girl tomorrow! I think the moral of the story is - you can get away with not building much rapport or comfort if you make a big EMOTIONAL IMPACT. Because the way I did the sets was particularly ballsy, I left that aura of mystery and intrigue, so she was thinking about me and wondering who I was and what kind of guy I am. |
