So this was my second night out since my relationship of over 2 years ended. Went to a dance club and stayed for about 30-45 minutes. It was kind of dead tonight but opened two sets. One was a complete rejection but here is the one that went OK: Me: "Which one of you is going to dance with me first?" Girl 1: "Oh I think we would get in trouble" Me: "OK"... [should have teased at this point now that I think about it] I tried to body rock out at this point. Several of the girls pushed one of their friends (who actually ended up being married) to me. Girl 1: "Maybe she will dance with you" Me: (to girl 2): "I think your friends are trying to set us up. I'm Alex (she introduces herself). Let's dance." [grabbed her hand and took her to the dance floor] While dancing, she told me she was married and could get in trouble. I told her we were just dancing. In retrospect, I probably should have followed by teasing her about getting the wrong idea. After a while, some of her friends joined in. I broke off dancing with just her to include the whole group. I think her friends were actually trying to 'save' her though. Eventually they started walking off the dance floor and so I did too. What do you think? I definitely know that my body language and tone wasn't right. I also didn't know where to take it from the dance floor with her or her friends. I also feel kind of awkward going into a club by myself, which I am still working on getting over, and am trying to focus my approach anxiety and not let it get the best of me. Thanks for any feedback, Gois |
