So I went to the mall and told myself I have to go for it. I was looking to buy sunglasses I saw in a movie so that made a good conversation starter with the sales girls. I approached this nice shape average looking girl and started the conversation about the sunglasses I was looking for. I then negged her about how she was selling stuff on the outside booth in the cold while the other sales reps were inside. She seemed kind of bummed about it and brushed it off. We then fluffed about the movie and I asked her what her name was and introduced myself. Right when I did this she got the hint I was hitting on her. She right away looked in the mirror to see how she looked which I took as an IOI. She then kind of messed/played with her hair. Then for the next five mins as I was talking to her she was randomly doing this:
She was doing it with her index finger instead of the thumb. I took this as a major IOI. But I didn't know how to transition to asking for a # so to stop my nervousness, I just blur-bed out "so you wana hang out sometime?", she immediately said she has a boyfriend in an apologetic voice. Like the chode I am I said "cooooooome on!", she replied "for real I have a boy friend". I couldn't think of a good comeback so I said "I have a dinosaur too", which made her laugh. Then the phone rang and she went to answer it, at this point I waited 30 secs to see if she will give me an indication to wait for her, but she didn't and it was feeling creepy/awkward/needy. So I just left.
Failure fucking sucks. I feel disappointed but I know I must brush it off and go on.
