My rule for the weekend was "No Opinion Openers." My transition to natural game has begun...
There were a ton of sets so I'm just going to bounce around and remark about the high- and low- lights of the bigger ones. I'm going to have a wrap up regarding the entire workshop, this is just the field info.
First was a venue that was on the roof of some building. Pretty busy but a good venue in that the volume wasn't too loud and there were plenty of good lock in positions. I opened a seated two set and locked in well by sitting down. I never picked a target though (a recurring problem) and I ended up kinoescalating both. Ejected to next set.
Outside everyone was wearing these red cloaks that we later learned were given by the venue for when it got cold. I opened a bunch of sets situationally asking about the coats and they were receptive. One set told me it was a cult thing and then I bantered about how imaginative they were and we created a cult between us. Lot of success when you create a fantasy world, will make sure to keep that up. Zip was always close by to come in and really pump my preselection, opening sets with her around is a breeze!
I kept working the situational cloak opener and got into a two set french, a mom and daughter. I locked in with a yes ladder "Are you fun? Smart? Creative? Let me see your hands, take a step this way (turn out and lock in) Thanks!" and Rye and Simozene occupied the mother while I worked the target. I should have escalated kino faster, she was about a foot away from me and I kept trying to get her to stand closer but I think her mother was just making it too tough. Isolate! I used a "Tell me three things about yourself but make one of them a lie" and she said something to the effect of "I have a boyfriend, I'm very happy with him, I live on the beach." I told her that she cheated, all three of them aren't supposed to be lies, and then quickly started talking about the beach to push the idea of a BF out of her mind (NLP wipe!).
We all bounced to another very small venue that had a bad ratio but when we rolled in the entire club stopped to look at us. We RAN this place...
I started opening guys to build some extra proof with something about having money on a game etc etc. I had an interesting experience in which my value was so high that I got blown out of a set. This happened a few times actually, I'd open then Rye would come to Wing for me, and Zip would walk by and give me a kiss on the cheek and then make a quick comment to my target about how cool I was and I'd find my target putting herself down and then ejecting. It was quite comical!
Saint had so much energy that everyone was approaching him and he was merging sets forwards and backwards like crazy. At some point he opened a two set and pawned one of the girls onto Simozene and the other onto me. My target was an asian girl, cute but drunk. We danced for awhile then I got into a little AMOG battle which was funny
Her friend came over and he said he just wanted to talk to her for a moment. He even made it a point to say, "You're in man, I don't like her like that." And I just laughed in his face about it saying, "No way man, you should go for her!"I had another great mixed three set where I opened the girls with "Are you guys best friends?" I then announced to the group (Big social proof means you can just kinda dictate how it's going to be) that we were going to test them and then I explained the best friends test to the guy without letting the girls hear. Then I ran it on the girls, they looked and I was high fiving the guy and laughing with him, totally disarmed. I'm going to remember that for mixed three sets it worked REALLY well. Anyway, I had been crouching the whole time and never really locked in, as a way to show me my mistake Rye came in and locked in taking the set. Needless to say, I learned my lesson, and Rye made it up to me by giving a set up to me a little later.
The Saint opened a 3 set with the TD bounce in (my new fav move by the way) and while he handled two targets I took the obstacle. After DHV'ing a bit I gave her a compliance test with a pinky grab which she refused, I looked at her like she was crazy tapped her friend and offered her my pinky which she took immediately.
THE DEBRIEF
Upon debrief the saint taught me how to handle something like this. Take for example you want a girl to come over to you, you simply make the come here motion and you keep making it until she complies. It builds up pressure between the two of you and as long as your request is innocuous she'll comply sooner or later. Keep a strong frame and push it forward.
Vocal tonality and pace should be used to take the set on a roller coaster ride of emotions and energy. When a set starts to slip, turn the energy up! I need to push my set further in sets, I tend to eject early my new rule will be wait to be blown out.
My game is solid enough that while I'm not outcome dependent there is no reason I can't be kclosing a few sets a night. While the transition from MM (My beloved M3 crutch) to natural game is tough and it is making me take a few steps back I have faith in the saint and Rye and I feel in the long run it will help me.
