Post subject:  2013 - RichBoy - Seattle field reports

I figure I start a new year with a different threat, and since I am living in Seattle now. It probably makes more sence to post here

1/20/12 – field report – Ballard night.

I felt like it was a great night. We had 10 people who stopped by. After a short introduction at Matador, since there were no spots at the La Carta De Oaxaca, we hit some of the hottest venues in Ballard. I felt like the environment was great. When I was leaving Café La Carta, a set of 8 women who were sitting at the same table where we are, were checking me out. So when I was about to leave, I opened them with “since you guys took our table, now we have to go and find a dif. place”. We had a quick conversation, and since my friends left already, and I was standing there, I start moving away as well.

After dinner we split into 2 groups. Clint took one group to People’s pub, and I took the rest of the guys to Belmar. There were a few women that I talked to. I opened a single set who ended waiting for her boyfriend who was standing RIGHT BEHIND ME…. Ooppss… oh well I smiled and said “have a good night” to both of the them… Then I helped Michael one of the guys who read about the game online by introducing him to the set that I opened. It was great, he took the conversation over, but I instead of staying in the set, bounced looking for other sets to open.

My goal for the night was to help the new guys- and I did get a lot of questions on what to say, when approaching a girl, and how to move it to a more interesting conversation.

Pains:
1. Staying in the set and running the material. This is my biggest pain so far. I had a good opportunity with 4-5 sets that night. I opened 3 of these sets, and the rest I was introduced to. I have a tendency to drift away after a while, and I NEED to stay and run the material that I have already. Also the longer the conversation with a women or a group of women the more feeling it creates and excitement to open other sets.
2. OPEN sets – just go and say something. By now I have a lot of material. I do have canned openers, stories, etc. I do not freeze out any more, but for some reason once in while I use old boring “how’s your night going” .. and sometimes it gets the conversation going, but I should try something more interesting on Europe, Travel, Dancer, etc.
3. Moving sets, etc. I feel pretty comfortable about it – but need to work more on this next time.
