I was in London last week going out with my friend who is a professional dancer. Not a PUA but definitely not an AFC either. He tells me about this club in Soho called Freedom. It's a gay bar, but he assures me that loads of beautiful pro dancer chicks go there to network and basically show off their moves for the pro gay dancers that go there. When we arrive, there's a huge queue and it's guest list only, but my pal says a few words to the bouncer and he let's us in (kind of annoying as I had just got talking to an HB7 outside the club but can't complain!) We enter to a crowd of immaculately dressed muscular gentlemen drinking cocktails with straws and umbrellas but I thought I would give it a chance. After getting a couple of drinks we head downstairs to the club area. My friend keeps saying hi to people he knows and pointing out all these D-list celebrities (some of which he knows) so its all good so far and we're feeling like we're the shit. I feel like in any other club it would have been so easy but every time I dance with or get talking to a girl I have these thoughts running through my head like, is she definitely a girl?... Or... is she only talking to me because she thinks I'm gay?... My friend is right though, the club is full with both overt homosexuals, lesbians and ...most importantly... Hot dancer types. I'm at the bar waiting to be served and the situation has actually made me a little bit shy but there's an HB8 standing next to me so I look at her, smile and simply open with "Hi" before looking away. She says "Hi" and smiles back. 30 seconds later she sparks up a conversation (I've actually used the Hi opener before and you'd be surprised how well it works in the right situation). We talked for a bit and had some good convo and she gave me some IOIs like hair touches and a little kino but nothing major. She's been served by this point and I still haven't but, me not expecting anything, she says "this one's for you" and hands me a corona. I say "thank you" and she darts off towards the dance floor. I was keeping an eye out for her all evening but I couldn't remember exactly what she looked like (nothing stood out that much) and I even asked a couple of girls that I thought might be her if they "were the girl that bought me a corona earlier"... Lame right? But I felt like she was game and I thought that if I got the wrong person it might open up new conversation anyway (as a heads up, it's a shit opener). I never saw her again. One thing I learnt that night was the importance of peacocking. I couldn't spot her in the crowd because I couldn't remember anything out of the ordinary about her! I'm wondering, how do you deal with gay bar pick up? It genuinely was a target rich environment, but I think this girl may have thought I was gay, how can you tell without asking? (and in doing so qualifying yourself) Synergy. |
