| Post subject: | Success, and not just because I got the number... |
...but because it's a girl I had a crush on in High School, who I haven't seen in almost a decade. I closed her number within 5 minutes. Here's how: *Walk into overly sausaged bar in my hometown. Scope, see almost nothing. Spy crush (HB8.5) at a table with one girl friend. Notice table next to her is open. Sit with my friend without acknowledging I've seen her. Shoot the shit with my buddy for a few minutes, then* Me: In two minutes I'm going to open a girl, and I'm going to get her number. Friend: What girl? This place is a sausage fest. Setup: (Me = X, She = O, Friends = +) ----------WALL---------- + TABLE O X TABLE + *I turn around. Poke poke poke her back* Me: Hey didn't I take you to your junior prom? (I did, as an AFC Freshman in College) Her: *Light up* Oh hey! Me: Hey you. Wow, you look great, give me a hug. *She stands and does. A full hug. IOI#1* Me: Who's your friend? She: Oh, this is... Me: And this is... *Sit down. We're both facing away from our friends. I maintain conversation with her, finding out what she does (bartender, so I make a joke about gross guys hitting on her), how short everyone there is (I'm 6'1", she's about 6') and other mundane stuff. She never once turns back to her friend. IOI#2. Eventually I stumble and can't think of anything to say. She reenganges conversation asking me about my life in Los Angeles. IOI#3. Time to get her number.* Me: So I'm only in town another couple days, but it'd be great to see you again. Her: Let me give you my number. *I hand her my card to write on. This is great because I'm an actor and it has my face on it, and it totally caught her off guard.* Her: So can I write it on your face? (A joke. The IOIs just keep coming) *She doesn't have a pen, and dumbass me forgot to bring one. Doesn't matter, I see her look at my phone (IOI) so I take it there. She just keeps the card. I tell her I'll let her get back to her friend, and we turn back. Five more minutes of conversation with my friend, and then we head out. As we leave, I say bye to her and then her friend.* Me: So I'll see you around. Her: You have my number. *Some dude knocks into me as I'm leaving. I calmly correct his path with my hand on his shoulder and display a definite alpha male side I've never had in a bar. She's still smiling as I go.* *Scene* Grades: A for effort. Last year I would've probably just ignored the fact that she was there. B for technique. It wasn't bad, and I got her number in 5 minutes, but I feel like I kept the conversation from going deeper than the surface. Also, bring a damn pen next time! D for follow through. Should I have tried to stick around? Or is Day 2 the important part? Also...do I text or call? I may have said I'd call her, so I think I'm kinda stuck doing that now. Regardless, if I had the balls 10 years ago that I had tonight, I wouldn't have wondered "what if" for so long. I no longer have the "what if" anymore. Any feedback is more than welcome. I'm going outside for a celebratory cig. |

Well , first of all I'm new in this PUA-type-forum thing. But not new in being an artist.If you ask me , you've done a great job ! It's great because even you forgot to bring pen or the conversetion was not a total success you just handled it ! And it's greater because you just got your High School crush's number ! That's awesome . Well I mostly text first,and then call her.You can try texting 'Can I steal your 5 minutes ?' and when you get your answer ,you can call and maybe,have a date . Even you can have kiss,or maybe a kacey(=kiss close).Try to hit her this time with negs . I mean the soft ones maybe this will work 'Your so cute that i can bite you Edward bites Bella' (I hate twilight ,just this worked on some girl I wanted to write,it works!:twisted: ) Good luck buddy.
