Hey All, I read about the game over a year or so ago but never pursued it. Long story short, broke up with g/f of 2 years and thought this was my chance to learn at the game. Last weekend I went out with a mate with the sole purpose of trying to attract girls. The night was slow to start with, there were girls around but I was just not feeling it, probably an excuse I know. My mate manages to start chatting to a girl, I quickly stepped in and occupied her friend (which was a 5 btw, not worth it). Anyway I was on the dance floor with the HB5 when a HB7 came up and started to dance around me. We danced for a bit, I can't remember who asked but we got onto the topic of what do you do? I said I repair disposable lighters, she replied with I repair broken stockings.. We both laughed and said what we really do.. Anyway, the convo kinda stopped after that and she walked away with her friend and sat down. At this stage I didn't know what to do and left it at that. Did she want me to come over and talk to her? Does that seem like I'm chasing her?? Later in the night I had another girl come up to me and say I have a nice jacket, I noticed her English accident and said "English, what brings you half way around the world". She said holiday and then said she was going to the toilet, didn't see her again.. What was that about?? There was another girl that I waved at when i got eye contact, she smiled (i think). I didn't approach because I have fairly bad AA at the moment, I'm trying to get the courage to go up and talk but when I play it out in my head I always get stuck after the opener on what to say. I've tried so hard to think up openers that i'm comfortable with and that relates to something in my life but I just can't think of any?? Reason being is I have really bad memory and always seem to screw up the openers. Even when practising them to myself. I also tend to stutter, but I usually stutter less when it's something that I know quite well. It's the same when i'm talking to the girl, my mates are always so witty and smart with what they are saying but I always seem to be quite flat.. I've tried to not think to much about it and just go with the flow, but still nothing.. I know I just need to get the balls and just start approaching more.. Is there anything I can do that might help me improve with openers and/or keeping the convo going. Thanks for the help and listening! |

Went out again last night. Managed to get the courage to open a few girls. I opened with.. Hey... You look like a smart girl, I need your opinion on something. I was having an argument with my mate weather check shirts were still in fashion. Do you prefer the plain cut or checked?? The girls seemed to just say I like blah.. then the convo went stale. I didn't really know what else to say. Any suggestions guys? Is that a bad opener?? I'm finding this stuff quite hard so any help will be much appreciated! |
