really appreciate the response !

and about the clothes, i am unfortunately kinda RIGHT between sizes, size 29 waist is a bit uncomfortable and the 30 is just a tad too big. same shit with the button downs, size down and i get pulling in the shoulders, this size its a bit baggy looking.

That's a good outfit in my book. The hat, obviously is a bit fratty and for younger dudes. But if you are in a frat and young, then it works.

I've noticed that the college/frat look is always very specific. It's almost like it's own fashion genre. I remember ten years ago it was all about popped collars and sideways visors and distressed hats with fishing hooks in them. And spikey hair with highlights! I like the new look much better.

any general thoughts/critiques/suggestions are welcome. but more specifically, what do you think of tucking in vs not tucking in? and thoughts on the hat? i also like to wear it forward, but i like it backwards during the day as i feel like its a more laid back chill look during the day when talking to HBs on the quad in the library etc.

Not bad, not bad. My only critique would be to get more fitted clothes all around. The shirt and and the pants. Then at that point I would let the shirt hang out. The hat is okay, a little fratty, but hey you're in college so it might work out well. To guys who are out of college I would strongly suggest no hat. Dig the red pants. -Tripp

I like the new look much better. i was only 10 so never experienced the spikey hair look but +1 on the bolded statement haha. so now that you see the sperrys in a full outfit, do you like them more (or at least some) now?

Definitely size down - a size too small will look better than baggy. Obviously get an ideal fit, but if you can't find a size that fits you anywhere and haven't got the money or access to get stuff tailored, then go a size too small rather than too big. Only one mind- too tight looks as bad as too baggy. Your shirt here is far too big though, and the pants are a little loose. I think the outfit is OK, but I think there is a bit too much going on. You've got the white of the hat/watch, the blue and white checked shirt, red chinos, brown belt and shoes, with orange soles and yellowy coloured laces. That's a lot of colour for one outfit. The amount of colours/'things going on' in your outfit can often be taken from your pants. If you're wearing a standard dull pair of dark blue jeans, you can wear a few other things, because your pants (one of the two main aspects of the outfit) is quiet. If you're wearing bright red pants, that's loud. You need to therefore tone down the rest. For me, get rid of the white cap and the white watch (maybe swap that for a brown watch that goes with the belt and shoes). If you then get slightly better fitting stuff, that in itself would be a pretty neat outfit. I'd be tempted to get a plain pair of brown shoes, without the orangey soles, just because the soles on those add a random flash of colour at the bottom of the outfit that doesn't really go with anything else (where is the orange that it goes with? And with the red in the pants, it just looks a bit miss-match-y). As for tucking the shit in - as this particular one is a bit baggy, tuck it in tight. Where you've got it puffing up slightly on your hips, try to tick that in so that it's straight. That is a little cheat way of hiding shirts that are a bit too big. They still look big around the arms and neck, but that's a lot less obvious to notice than around the waist. So as a minimum - ditch the hat, swap the white watch for a brown one (or just ditch it altogether) and tuck the shirt in tight. As a maximum and if you've got the money to reinvest, do the minimum above get better fitting pants and shirt, and get a plain pair of brown shoes. Maybe a bit more of a beigey-brown as well, because the red pants are an earthy red rather than a metallic red. Earthy red goes well with earthy beigey desert boot type shoes.

'7000' knows his stuff. Sound advice again. I also like the outfit but just a little too much going on with it and you could drop it down a size. Remove the hat. Get a brown leather watch. The shoes look a little distracting, a simple plain looking pair of brogues or something would look great. Match the colour to the belt. Simple yet effective. Good luck
