From a body language perspective, where do you think would be the most powerful position to sit in a college classroom? Would it be in the back row, the front row, at the end of a row, the center seat of the entire classroom, or somewhere else? This is my first post on here by the way but I've been following for a while and I was just wondering what your opinions were on this topic. Thanks.

It's the "what the fuck are you talking about" row.

Seriously?

You've been focusing or even thinking about achieving a high status by sitting in a specific place in the classroom.

Let me tell you something, if the "cool kids" sits in the back, the higher status place is in the back. But if the same kids would sit in the front, everybody would think the front is higher status.

Meaning, this thread is quite useless.

Yeah, in college there really isnt a "cool" place to sit. Just sit wherever you please dawg. Preferably, next to a hot freshman chick.

My recommendation is to avoid the back. I don't recommend the front row either but it does depend who you sit next to and upon your interactions with other people in the class. I can tell you that from my experience, when I sat further up than the middle, I saw an increase in the amount of girls who would approach me with something like "Hey, you're the guy from _____ class" when I didn't even know they were in the class. The reason I don't recommend the back is because, yes, you're there to learn, and if you're in the back you're more likely to sleep, get ignored by the professor, dick around, and spend your lecture hour looking around the room for where the hot girls are instead of having a healthy mix of education and socializing.

WOW...

Speaking from experience...(I'm in college)... the best seat...is RIGHT NEXT TO A HOT CHICK.

That's it.
Forget looking cool, forget the back and forget the middle or the front...

To be "cool" doesn't matter...YOU SHOULD BE SITTING RIGHT NEXT to the hottest girl in class, and on the first day of class you better sit right next to her, introduce yourself, kino and end the class with a couple laughs at LEAST, while walking her out the room....you take the rest from there...

Cool? Yea that exists...but most "cool" kids sit next to their "cool" friends...

Cool, to us SHOULD BE right next to the hottest girl in class...END of story!

-----
Take it from experience, just did this the first day of the semester a month ago for my bio class...A very smart girl, with a great personality...Now my present lab partner, and a VERY fun to be with girl.

You want cool? Sit next to the hottest girl in class.

Have fun!

Sit in the front row, forget sitting next to the hottest girl in class.

Be elaborate in class, engage in learning and build a relationship with your professors. This shows you have your shit together and are taking education seriously. I can't say how many times my professors ask me for MY feedback and input because they know I'm paying attention.

The girls linger on my every word, because I'm not some chump kid that goes... "uhhh.. i don't know..."

This.

Participate in the class, in an energetic, outgoing way, not in a know-it-all way. Banter with the teacher, use confident humor and one-liners. If you're the guy making the class enjoyable for others, that is extremely high value and people will look to you as a leader in the classroom. People will want to talk to you and get to know you, because they will see you as a fun, social, interesting guy.

But, you have to be intelligent and be able to answer serious questions, too. You don't want to be a class clown. It's a fine line.

truth. I found out from being in a class of 180 students in my bio class that I attract attention wherever I sit. Its coz everyone will always turn their heads to my questions.

They are either funny questions or serious questions both which contribute to the quality and content of the lecture

...Was kind of figuring this should be common sense. Agree 100% with it, but I'd say there is no reason you can't do the above right next to the hottest girl...it's a quick introduction and easier to kino and the else.

The above right there is a combination of perfection.

(first post here)

This worked really well for me in college. I would always sit about 3-4 rows back from the front of the class, I would also answer most of the questions in class the professor threw out, but only after giving the rest of the class the chance to answer to not appear to douchey. I would always make sure I was in a calm, collected, leaning back body language state also. I had multiple occasions where attractive girls would purposefully come and sit next to me and introduce themselves. my 2c

I would usually sit at the back - and it was terrible. Why? Well, I sat at the back, because I was usually 5 minutes late for my lectures, so snuck in and sat at the first available seat. What did I miss out on? Most importantly, the possibility to socialise outside the room before hand.

Get there early, chat to people. Hot chick is great. But so is a group of other lads if needs be - if you're there quite early, then everyone else in the class will see you when they arrive. If you're being cool, chatting to people, showing all your traits and 'Pick Up Artist' qualities when everyone else arrives, they should already have noticed you (and ideally be talking to you!!) before you even get into class. Then sit wherever you want, the people who are flocking around you outside the room will come and sit next to you!

Damn your over thinking this!!!

Towards the back, with the obvious cool kids....

Where you sit doesn't mean shit... I'd rather sit on the front row like a keano with hot girls either side of me kinoing the shit out of me.

Get a grip seating means fuck all
