Author of the Game Neil Strauss has his new book - The Truth released.

A great reflection on yourself and the kind of relationship you want.

It's a great inner game consolidation.

Must check it out :D

Just finished the "Style Life Diaries" (part 2 of Rules of the Game) and man, this guy is an excellent writer. Though I pretty much believe that he had all these experiences in real life, but my gut says that he modified the stories a bit just to introduce emotions into the story and to capture more audience. Nevertheless, his books are excellent to read and also give some pretty good lessons about life.

PS: Accept it or not, Humanity owes Neil Strauss for introducing them to The Game.

Just finished reading the book, and here's my 2ยข:

The good--Neil asks several fair questions: is monogamy the only thing out there? Are people programmed to be cheaters/nonmonogamous? He presents a variety of communities (definitely not everything, though) were people try to deal with ethical nonmonogamy, and part of the big conclusion seems fair as well: that it's not about what you do, but it's about who you are and how you approach it.

The bad--So many WTF moments... Neil spends 200 pages talking about nonmonogamy before he realizes he's fine with it as long as his partners stay monogamous. He hops from one nonmonogamous style to another, and each time he describes one example of failure in it, and then concludes: that shows swinging or polyamory can't work! (so why didn't he conclude that from monogamy too, seeing how he failed with Ingrid?)
The biggest WTF was when he tries to start a "harem" with three girls whose only connection with each other is that they want to have sex with him: he doesn't even know if they share his vision of relationship, whether they are mentally stable or not (turns out one isn't), or if they're all ready to live 24h a day with each other.
And the ending made me feel like the ending of the Game: that Neil wanted a Disneyesque happy end for whatever editorial purpose. Both "And he lived a happy player's life ever after" or "And he lived happily ever after in an open relationship" would have been too avant-garde, I guess.

In a few words, that was a fun read, although not as fun as the Game. And I wouldn't recommend that to anybody, there are way better and smarter books on nonmonogamy.

Just finished the book and it was a great read for a story. If you read between the lines, there are things to learn from it, but everyone is different so don't takes Neil's experiences as an accurate account of how these types of relationships work for everyone else. I don't think I will be trying to live with three women anytime soon, but it certainly puts a new perspective on where you can go with this life.

The most interesting thing about the books that he has written related to the Game is the journey from outset to current day.

This dude was already living an interesting life - he had interactions with some major music groups, rock bands, etc. His luck/abilities with the ladies were pretty hideous and for those who may not be familiar/know he was actually considering mail-order-brides/catalogues - that's pretty bottom of the barrel.

Reading through some very recent articles on him its pretty cool to see him apparently happy in love with his model wife and their young son.
