Actually the question is WHY would you WANT to be the centre of attention? Not to say its bad so much, but I dont see the point. |

Well think of it like as if you are a guy at a party just making observations:You notice an attractive blonde and two guys. Each of the two guys have different behavior. One guy is standing in the center of the room joking around and making everyone laugh. He seems confident and he has a decent amount of people around him. The other guy you noticed is sitting on a couch by himself against a wall in the room. Occasionally one or two people pass him and make small talk, but they eventually walk away. Which guy do you think the attractive blonde is going to be more pulled to? She will most likely want in on the first guy's fun and she will make her way towards him if he doesn't intentionally grab her attention first. She will see he is having a blast and everyone likes him - basic social proof. As for the other guy sitting on the couch, he is not necessarily ruled out by her, he may just have a bit lower social value in her eyes. He isn't doing anything to show his personality nor is he being outgoing, so she sees nothing to join in on. Everyone wants to have fun. Pretty obvious isn't it? Being the center of attention is just a simple way of showing you are having fun and so is everyone else. I'm not saying you HAVE to be the center of attention, it may not even be how you feel comfortable, it's just another tool to your advantage in some cases. Like kcdclan said, stories are one way to capture attention. Make sure it doesn't drag on and on and on and on and on and on and on though. It also helps if it's humorous or the ending ties into a punchline or a non-expected twist. It can also make it better to act certain parts out and you can use this opportunity to add in some kino.Example (true story): My friend was at a party telling a humorous story about some mannerisms another friend has when he has a little too much to drink. He pulled the closest girl to him in closer, putting his arm around her, and then began to imitate something the "drunk friend" may say and do. Everyone was cracking up because they could completely see the "drunk friend" doing that. Afterwards he was able to continue with the girl he had pulled in. Kino was a little easier for him because she already had the frame of him being "hands on". |
