Post subject:  How to actually start a relationship?

im not really sure how this all works out, but the girl im currently seeing just asked me to be in a relationship with her. we've known each other for a year but BARELY ever hang out. i havent seen her in almost 6 months, then out of the blue, i hook up with her twice in the last last week and now she is asking for a relationship, like straight up. is this weird? i mean i never had anyone ask me to be in a relationship with them. my last relationship didnt start like this. it just happened naturally over time through hanging out and a couple of dates. with this current chick, i didnt even take her on an actually date. what should i tell her? should i accept it or is this moving too fast. i feel like if i say yes, we'd be moving too fast. but i really do like her, but sometimes things are just too good to be true. So, how did your relationships start? did your bf/gf straight up ask you or did it just happen naturally? and while we are on the subject, what is the facebook relationship etiquette for this? when do you make it facebook official? hahah sorry about that last question. just curious

It is a weird situation.
What I would do is pretend she didn't even ask me to be in a relationship with her and just act like I've known her for years.
Make sure she thinks you're just trying to have fun with her, e.g. joke about stuff and all that, the main thing you want is to ENJOY yourself without hurting her.
Don't act like you're trying to please her, NEVER DO THAT. p;

Hope this helps.

in my opinion, you should be asking yourself how you feel about her and if you're ready for a relationship with this girl at this point. then, you should have a talk with her about how you feel. i don't think a PUA forum is the proper place for such a question.

each and every relationship is different, and may start in a number of ways. it can be unusual. ever heard of the saying, "ends justify means"? don't sweat it. what is important is what she means to you, or what she potentially means to you. if you feel uneasy about this, just don't commit to anything yet. if she keeps nagging you, tell her to take it easy and see where this all leads you two.

there is not hard and fast advice on building relationships. it's very personal. it's about you and her at this point and your future as a couple (or not). be wary of advice on personal issues. you're better off listening to yourself on these kinds of things.

my current relationship started in a very weird way. it was a 2-day-long negotiation process, triggered by my current GF not wanting to see me anymore because I was sleeping with another girl. FB official within 24 hours.

compare this to my ex-GF. our relationship started at midnight on January 1st, on the beach, with fireworks in the sky. we were already listed as "It's complicated" on FB, we simply moved it to "in a relationship".

with my ex-ex-GF, we ended up saying "I love you" on the phone one afternoon and then we met and entered an official relationship. no FB at the time.

previous GFs are mostly teenage stuff where I asked after making out a few times and was told "yes". the three above are the "adult-ish" relationships. as you can see, there is no rule for how you start. just make sure it works well and you can laugh off even the worst day-0.
