Post subject:  How would you have responded to being called cocky?
Hey guys,

I started talking to this HB8 and things have been going well. Most of the time using C & F has always received good responses but I didnt know how to respond to this after she called me out.

We haven't really had the time to see eachother in person yet (that will happen Wednesday) but the time we met was when we were both kinda of drunk.

The conversation today went something on the lines of this:

Fluff fluff fluff

Her: I need your help with something real quick though

Me: ?

HB8: Can you just text me just say hi or something. My friend doesn't believe retards can text we'll show em lil buddy (This was as an inside joke to what I sent to her best friend earlier today)

Me: Mmmm thats cute a line... whoever sent that mustve been really funny

HB8: I bet :)

Me: But seriously I need your help with something

HB8: Lol ok alright what is it?

Me: I really enjoyed our time together and i desperately cant wait to show you i'm not cocky (shes been nagging about me being cocky) but the dumb security guard wont let me in the zoo.. any you can help me find the keys? ;)

HB8 - Really chex?

Me: Relax... no need to get negative nancy all of the sudden

HB8: Haha i wasn't stressing or anything... but im actually kinda laughing right now. Is that what you tell to all the girls? (Never got this response before but this entire time after we first met shes been commenting how cocky of a person i am)

Me: You honestly think I would spend my time making up lines to say to girls?

HB8: I would say yes but I'm sure ull just say, "Please I dont have to say lines to get girls"

I honestly had no clue what to say in response to this. Any ideas? I havent reached the rapport level yet to say something on the lines of, "I can't believe you actually think of that kind of person. I thought you were a hella cool girl and different from everyone else, but youre just the same"

Any ideas what you guys would have said in response to this?

If a girl calls me out, I usually respond with something along the lines of " only on my number two girl I may have to." I feel as though saying that will switch the conversation back to talking with her and not her getting at you. Works most of the time.

Personally man, I don't have patience for shit like that usually. I'd say something like, "I didn't have to use any lines to get you, did I?"

If she gets offended, I'd freeze her the fuck over, I wouldn't give a fuck. If she wants some, she can come back and beg... But that's just me.

I'd just say I do and I work really hard on them, spending sleepless nights alone with the cold moon and the warmth of a lit candelight, as I scribble away furiously in my notebook, LOL.

She won't know if you're being honest or joking, and disarming honesty is charming, and joking is confident...both good.

She thinks that you are using lines, frankly, so do I.

Why apologize for anything you do, if you do, you lose. Unless of course it is something that you would normally apologize for like being a jerk. But apologize for who you are, never.

Girl: You are pretty cocky.
Ezo: We are both pretty cocky. I just hope that I am the pretty one and you are the cocky one.

It doesnt have to make much sense.

Nice insight ezo seen a lot of your posts around here and can't help myself thinking; 'where could i get inner game like that'?.
Of course the most important thing for a situation such as this is frame control, keep your frame strong and if needs be use frame transformation techniques.

For example:
HB - your really cocky
Me - I know its great isn't it (smile), although I do think it stops me meeting a lot of nice girls (serious). I hope that one day in the future i'll be able to be confident without being cocky and that i could get someone like you.

How do you know Im not a regular loser trying to sound cool over the internet? ;)

I would recommend searching and destroying your social fears. I spent a lot of time accepting that I am exceptionally annoying, got used to that and then the fear of making a fool of myself disappeared...

Well, the real shit test was when she asked if that's what you say to all the girls. I would just ignore it and text something else, or you could say something like "I say it to guys too. Why so sexist?" or "Hey, guys laugh too"

However, for the second (and harder hitting shit test), all you need to do is prove her wrong. Just text this: *insert premeditated response here*
It shows that you have no response ready for her and that doesn't bother you at all. This works great in normal conversation too, a great all-around way to deal with many types of shit tests.
