Post subject:  Using magic tricks
Ok seriously guys, I have no idea how any of you use magic tricks in pick up. I hear all the time that it keeps the girl interested and it's a good dhv or whatever but i've never encountered a situation where it was just natural to bust out some cards and do some magic for a random group of people (Unless it's your job). Do you just ask, "hey! you wanna see a magic trick?" Or do you just start doing it and tell them to watch? Former sounds try-hard and latter seems "dancing monkey." Advice please.

Do an opener like..."do you prefer magic tricks or a private 1-2-1 chat with someone you've just met??
Go with the flow with either... however ideally you want here to say the private chat as that's an ioi and gives you more chance to build up kino etc however i also guarentee that during the private chat, she will ask you something like "So if i had said magic tricks, what would have you done" or to that effect. So not only have you isolated her now but you can also practice a rehearsed magic trick impress her and if you get that far whilst you on the subject of magic tricks say, "one last trick as i have to go soon but you will really like this one. I bet you... (EG.a drink) that i can kiss you without actually touching you" she'll be all confused but will hopefully go along with it... if she doesnt then go for a number close or do a nearly kiss routine to build up more sexual tension however back to the point...youve bet her a drink or watever that you can kiss her without touching her, assuming she goes along...then when she does go along with it, just start kissing her face off even touch her arms, face, stroke her hair etc...quite blatently toucing her. Afterwards she will be like you touched me, just wink and smile and say "i know what a shame hey ;)... i will buy you that drink i owe you next time as i have to go now"...she will be hopefully like, "so there will be next time" to which you can say well yeah but to arrange it whats the best way to contact you...number close this would be a great set but practice it with HB 6-7.5's to start :@)

Glad I saw your post. I hope I can help you. I had the same questions years ago until this became a major part of my game.

I'm not a professional magician and I never really intended to become this pick up guru, but I've seen a lot of guys really enjoy what I teach and I created just for guys like yourself.

my wing uses magic tricks with cards and balls and that kind of stuff...
most of the times he'll just say: i learned something. can you be my test pilot?
girls dig that so..

i rather believe you shoudn't start magic tricks.. my wing can't sarge with out them.. and that is a bad thing...

There are so many "What magic tricks should I learn?" threads on this forum that it gets annoying. You should really only use magic in your routines if you really are interested in learning magic for some reason other than pick-up. I DO have a real interest and I intend to get some tuition when I have enough money together because I have two young nephews and one young niece (my other niece is eleven now, so it would be more wasted on her).

When I use magic I do say "I'm learning a new trick, I'm going to test it out on you."

Here's an opener I got from a magician friend in NYC. For those that actually are serious with magic, this is a great opener (I've seen it in action). It uses a mismade bill but you don't do any magic with it. Here's a basic summary of how it goes:

You walk up to a set and tell them you got the weirdest thing from the bar. Pull out the bill and explain that you got it as change (pass the bill around, let them talk about it and whatnot). Get the discussion going (is this legal tender, how could the US mint make such a huge mistake, blah blah blah). Once you get their interest going, explain how you've seen alot of things as a professional magician (DHV), but you've never seen anything like that before.

If they ask you to do a trick and you choose to, a way to justify pulling out a deck of cards or whatever props you use is to say that you just got off from a gig and forgot to leave them in the car. It pretty much eliminates the thought of you carrying magic tricks specifically for meeting girls. Also when they ask, it's a good way to throw in some qualifiers and all that stuff.

I'm a bit of a noob to the PUA game and there's alot that I have to learn, but I've tried this routine a couple times and it worked for me, though I didn't get a number (still trying to build more confidence in that department). I hope you guys enjoy it.

hey i had the same problem- i startedlearning some quick little magic tricks and my wing and I say that the only way you should pull out a magic trick is with this; i have a magic trick for you. Never ask if she "wants" to see a magic trick because it allows herto say no. Also if sheever says oh my and keeps asking to see more tricks, like in the book the game, tell her that your not her little monkey nor the entertainment. If feel confortable doing them, then simply go ahead and do them, the best advice would be to go out and get in the field with it!
