Hi guys, I work with this girl whose father is sick. We hang out once in awhile and she's been giving off body language cues. We met up about a week and a half ago but she brought one of our other friends who was aggressively hitting on me. Then that friend left where we were at and it was just me and her for a little bit, then I bounced, too. Since then, I made it clear when we made other plans not to bring anyone else. She didn't respond to that text and I sent a follow-up a few days later and found out her father has been in and out of the hospital (confirmed.) I'm wondering if she has no interest or she is just too busy with her life right now to even worry about anything else (which I would understand.) Not sure if this is the right section for this question. |

So? You want to go for the girl that isn't interested, instead of the one that is? Why make things harder? |

You have to be mentally handicapped to think bringing friends on a date is ok. She knows that. Unless you made it excruciatingly unclear that this was in fact a date. And even in that case, if SHE were interested she still wouldn't do shit that would hurt her chances, like you know, bringing a friend. Her dad being in the hospital isn't even relevant to this post. |

Not even remotely interested in the girl that was hitting on me. Anyways, that girl left and left me and my friend alone but I wasn't feeling like making a move so I left. And it wasn't a date, she asked me to hang and I was actually planning on bringing a date but I got blown off. We've been friends for a couple years and I've never shown any interest so I wonder if she is just taken aback or is not interested. I mention the dad thing because she didn't reply to a text which is not too unlike her and when I told her I was disappointed not to hear back from her she said it was because she was in the hospital with her dad. Is this one a lost cause or should I push a little farther? I'm giving her space now, she was just in the hospital with him again yesterday but I want to ask her out in person this time to get a better read. She was asking me to hang out more and more recently but I wonder if not making a move hurt my chances or whether she is just in the space she cannot think about it or if she got creeped out her friend asked her on a date. p.s. made it clear the next time we were going to hang out was supposed to be a date. |

To tired? I don't get statements like this on the forum. Obsessing over getting the perfect opportunity is more likely the cause. |

"I don't get statements like this on the forum. Obsessing over getting the perfect opportunity is more likely the cause." aka I blew any chances by not making a move? |

Well now she sees you as "The Guy That Doesn't Make a Move." Never be that guy.

Thanks man. Partly why I figured I should ask her out in person next time. She seemed a little disappointed when I was leaving. Thanks for the advice guys. |

It's not manual labor. How are you too tired to flirt? |

Not too tired. I was upset about being blown off by the other girl I didn't want to go through another rejection that night. |
