Post subject:  When text messaging goes cold

Hey guys, so I have been gaming this girl (me in early 30s, she 21) that I met once at an event and we clicked well.

She was the one to text me first the next day asking if I was going out again to another event. Which I said no, because weather sucked and also - hey I saw you yesterday, enough already!

Eventually, we sent messages back and forth to go out one Sat night to dance, and I had her interest, then on Friday night she changed her mind because she was too tired and wanted to chill on Sat but added she wants to go out dancing with me sometime soon.

Now she messaged me days later, again, (and just when I was about to message her - good thing I waited!) saying "Hey LaOnda! How are you?". To which I responded "Hey you! did you forget your keys again?! I am good just warming for some dancing for tomorrow". - referring to her leaving her keys home/being locked out the other day and my dance classes.

She hasn't responded back since. I thought my message was ok. Or maybe the key thing brought back a negative experience? If so, wow, sensitive.

How do I bring her back?

Your message was fine.

Maybe a bit eager, but fine.

Stop worrying. If she flakes, she flakes... happens to everyone.

Text her tomorrow a few hrs before you meet and tell her you'll be 10 mins late - Will cut down on the flakes (according to some other posters here...)

We weren't supposed to meet - so no flake situation.

I just don't understand why after asking me how am doing - and evidently showing interest - she doesn't reply back.
It's not that I told her to fuck off in my text reply or been too desperate. It wasn't even rude.
I texted the next day saying I was off to an event in the evening and she can join if she wanted. Still no reply.

Seriously, people who have like this are just stupidly confusing and that goes for guys as well.

I wonder if next time I get a number, and from now on, I just tell the girl "no text messages" - just call if you wanna get in touch. I think I might adopt this new rule in my life for everyone.

Some girls are just awful texters. Even if they are into you they can forget to reply. She probably saw your message immediately, didn't want to look desperate so she waited to respond, then got preoccupied with something else and completely forgot. Nothing you are doing wrong. Last thing you want to do is act hurt she didn't respond. If she brings it up just say "Oh I didn't even realize you didn't text back." You want to look like you've got so many girls talking to you, you don't realize or care when one flakes.

I agree with the other commenter too. Send another text but mask it saying "yea I'll be late" or something to that effect.
