Yes there is magic bullet because 2 year ago I would not even come this far by being panicky, and asking interview questions. But I got a handle on that, at this moment I need antidote for my "phone number anxiety"

There is a new "City Tobacco Store" down the street and one of them is a woman of 39, HB7.5. This was my game plan: 1st time: Hello, I want beer and cigarettes bla, bla,bla; by the way I am an English Teacher, do you know anyone who want one-on one lessons? (I allways ask this.) HB7.5: No, English language is not as important for us as it was 10 yrs ago....Okay. 2nd time, I: Hello, I want cigarettes......And I had a second try, by avoiding interview questions: Yes you are not interested in learning English because your special knowledge is Maths! I recon you were good, at maths, and now you are a woman with your numbers... Her response was different, she spoke 20 minutes about when she was 16 and learning maths in highschool, I wanted to end the talk, she called me back, talked more, and we departed as friends. Yesterday, she was in front of her shop smoking, noticed me and started to wawe, jump, and shouted Hi, hi what is up? But I pretended to be busy, and went home... So how should I behave when I go to the shop today? I dont want her anecdotes, I want to F-close her. She is possibly bored, and likely married and likes talk about herself....?? |

Well, in a way you asked for this.. My advice would be, if you don't want to listen to her possibly boring stories: avoid and forget her.. It's not gonna work. |

Well you probably should have stopped and talked to her when you were "busy and went home"... You aren't just going to be able to walk in, order some smokes and fuck her. You're going to need to invest a little more than the 20 mins of back-and-forth with her. Next time you're in, chat her up again, make her laugh, then casually tell her she's really cool, and you're going to call her sometime (you should have done this on your last 20 min chat)... Then... get her number and CALL HER and get her out for a drink, away from her work... Escalate from there... not from her work. |

In retrospect I would probably want to keep her for mid term casual as she can probably play chess, likes fishing, play ping-pong but haven't done for a long time, and listen to the same music I do. But if I chat and make her laugh and I ask her private number out of the blue she would porbably scowl, make a surprised expression, and change into forma style...?? |

I would bet you have escalation anxiety. You should have anxiety for each new step. You are afraid to risk losing what you have. How to fix it? Progressive Desensitization is the way to go. Go out, ask for numbers. Problem solved. Start with this girl. Mess up. Have her say no. They keep going to the shop. It will show you nothing that bad will happen if you get rejected. |

You're shooting yourself in the foot from the sounds of things. She waved at you to say hi after just saying "hi" to her twice then you acted stuck up by ignoring her and acting busy? Should have just engaged her in a light conversation and flirted with her then ejected just before she finished her smoke. "I gotta go, got a project to look after." You could have just thrown in that you two should hang out sometime before you left. Honestly, shop assistants are easy to engage. It's all about observational comments. "Great weather isn't it? *smile*" "Busy day today?" "Later" stupid shit like that. |
