I get this problem all the time. I'll be talking to a girl or a group, things are going pretty well, then some other guy, usually the AMOG type swoops in and gives the girl a big hug. She usually does the "Ohhh Ben so good to see you!!!" Blah blah blah, ensues.

This doesn't mean the guy is necessarily trying to steal her from you, there probably friends or maybe ex lovers or something. But what does one do in this situation?

I usually just end up sort of sliding back and allowing them to talk. The guy gives you a kind of "who's this ahole look." sometimes I feel as if its the girls way of getting rid of you... But I'm not sure. Sometime I just end up slinking way, which lowers my value and makes me look weak. Other times I try to interject, like "hey names Sawyer nice to meet you." Sometimes that backfires and the guy will end up negging me somehow. Or Worse just ignoring me.

I know in The Game, Neal says to say something like "I'll leave you 2 alone," so it looks like your giving her away rather than just slinky away. But that doesn't always seem to work. Any suggestions?

when that boy come and hug your girl ,
just say hi to that boy and look at girl while saying hi to that boy n give a smile , funny one little one
and shake hand is good one
and after that give him any compliment about his clothes
and when that boys leave , just say about the compliment to your girl
like
if you said ,to boy ' hey listen nice shirt , actully nice red ;
n thn say to girl
do you look its shirt its ugly one , i mean fugly one with smile :)
and girl will reply you but u give him a compliment
and next time when tht boy come again . give him another compliemnt , n tht time look at girls eyes when u giving him compliment with smile

I don't think giving her friend, or anyone for tht matter, a compliment just to go behind there back nd talk sh!t about them to the girl it makes you look like a fake a-hole.

I think your just over thinking it, treat the guy like you would if it was her female friend. Make him your friend, while your doing it ignore the girl if she try's talking neg her then continue this till he leaves.

If she's really interested in you she'll brush him off after a minute of saying hello to him. If she's so~so about you you'll have to work on it. Just stand your ground and be a man, cut in and say something, anything.

I always try and shake his hand right away, as soon as you see her recognise him or at least right after they hug (if they didn't hug don't even sweat it just introduce yourself and wait for her to brush him off)

There are a few ways on how to react, NEVER WALK AWAY/NEVER BITCH ABOUT HIM AFTER HE LEAVES(unless she does this about other people before he comes over) I prefer these two options -

Introduce yourself, and something like "I take it you know [Name]" after he answers, he'll talk to her as soon as she answers and there is a pause. Just say "it was nice to meet you" and "we'll meet you on the dance floor later" or something similar. He'll just excuse himself, you look like a gentleman and convey a protective nature.
**Also works in reverse if you bump into someone and they are talking to another guy, Introduce yourself to her, then to him and just continue talking to her don't ever look away from her and then excuse yourself to him, and then a drifting handshake for her**

if she doesn't introduce you assert yourself and shake his hand/high five whatever, ask him who he's here with and just dominate the conversation. After a while he'll just leave or invite you over, politely decline and say "it was a pleasure" then turn to her "he was nice, so anyway, where were we."

If he's being a dick just point it out, "wow sorry mate but just as [Name] was proving there was nice people you brought rude score right back" etc sometimes he'll correct himself "eerr sorry pal Hi I'm blah blah" you come off as a suave mature person and he comes off as a twat. If he gets violent or starts kicking off literally just stand away and ask her "are these your friends?" rather condescending, she will calm the situation down and even if she does walk away with him. She WILL find you just to apologise ;)

If a guy negs you just call him up on it, "sorry didn't realise this was a primary school disco"

What I hate most of all is when people ignore you, I just keep asking the same question louder and to this day no one has ever just walked away in ignorance. Not like screaming loud but make it obvious you are there.

When a guy steps into your set your number 1 priority is to find out who he is!
Is he a friend? her brother, ex-boyfriend, a drunk AMOG or an AFC who was careless enough to bark up a wrong tree?

To do this all you have to do is say something along the lines of "I don't believe we've met" or "Do we know you?"
If you build enough rapport, and a guy is an AFC, blow him out and ignore.
If the guy is a friend, establish rapport, establish dominant frame. Ignore him if they ignore him.
If the guy is an AMOG, diffuse him through humor and your set will help you blow him out. Try not to use venomous negs, as some guys are more interested in starting a fight than taking over your set.

The goal here is to diffuse the situation without starting a fight or making you look bad.

This is a "cliffnotes" version of how to deal with interference, but there are a lot of wonderful posts on this forum that you should explore.

Thanks everyone. Some solid advice. I'll research interference on here also. My game technology is in the gutter. Hope to reestablish myself soon.
